Former Socialist MP János Zuschlag, who is under preliminary arrest on corruption charges, has refused for the third time to provide a statement, the Deputy Advocate General of Bács-Kiskun County told daily Magyar Nemzet.
Investigators also interrogated lawyer Zsolt Szente as a suspect, who acted as a lawyer for additional suspect András Őri, who is the former Zala country chairman of Fiatal Baloldal (Young Left Wing), writes fn.hu.
The Third Millennium Foundation, one of the organizations with ties to the Zuschlag case, was formerly led by Zuschlag and then by Őri. The organization is suspected to have stolen Ft 9 million (€36,000) through deceitful practices.
There were also searches and seizures in the Ministry of Education and Culture’s offices as well, as investigators tried to trace the activities of Socialist politicians Árpád Kemecsei and Gábor Komlódi, due to their ties to Zuschlag.
