Conservative daily Magyar Nemzet has via an awkward headline suggested that Budapest District XIII's Socialist grouping is just fine with sending Jews back to Israel. The headline, which reads "MSZP: Sending Someone Back to Israel is not Antisemitism," is in regards to whether or not District XIII Socialist politician Miklós Döry made antisemitic comments directed at Fidesz politician György Szabó, who holds both Hungarian and Israeli citizenship. If you actually read the Magyar Nemzet article, it merely states that the Socialists deny Döry's comments were antisemitic and accuse the Fidesz politician of calling Hungary a nation of beggars, but that doesn't make for nearly as fun or scandalous of a headline, does it?
Published every Wednesday, the Politics Hungary newsletter contains all the previous week's headlines from Politics.hu, as well as related stories from other All Hungary sites.
Ironically, this article's headline is somewhat awkward as well.
First, MN did not use the term deport in the headline, and second it's strange that sending back to Israel can be denied to be antisemitic.
What would politics.hu imply if Fidesz made such a denial?
That Fidesz is wrongly accused? I don't think so.
