Monks continue hunger strike against health care reforms

Jesuit monks László Vértesaljai and József Hofher have been on hunger strike since before Parliament passed the bill on transforming health insurance on December 17. They believe the new bill will put the poor in a disadvantageous position.

Catholic priest László Lipp has expressed his sympathy by cutting his own hair and is now completely bald. A total of 27 clergy have shown support by observing a fast and praying.
