Gyurcsány, Draskovics deny rumors of government shakeup

Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány and reform “czar” Tibor Draskovics last week denied rumors of an impending reshuffle of the government.

Draskovits told Klubrádió that there is no serious disagreement within the cabinet that might lead to lead to such changes. He added that cabinet members are in broad agreement on the budget, and while there is some disagreement about the modification of the tax system, those debates are not political in nature.

For his part, Gyurcsány called the reports about a looming shakeup “gossip,” saying that he is not planning any changes in personnel that would involve Draskovics, Minister of Social and Labor Affairs Mónika Lamperth or Health Minister Ágnes Horváth, reports vg.hu.
