You’d think the 30 years of ridicule attached to the money hungry holes in the ground soon to be known as Metro 4 would make Budapest mayor Gábor Demszky carefully consider his words during any embarrassing damage limitation press exercises. On the contrary. Although he has only been working with László Gulyás for nine of those 30 years, Demszky recently referred to his M4 project chief as “József” three times in a recent interview aired during TV2′s Mokka morning show, reports index.hu (click the link to watch the clip). This undermined his argument somewhat, the nub of which was that neither he nor his close comrade “Józsi” were responsible for the repeated mix-ups and misunderstandings that have blighted construction.
