Fidesz to step up referendum campaign from Feb 17

Fidesz chairman Viktor Orbán plans to see the party campaign promoting the March 9 referendum go into full speed on February 17 which, Orbán put it “will be the day when the campaign turns sharp.” Fidesz officials told Népszabadság on Tuesday that Orbán will begin to tour the country after that date, as referendum political campaign leader István Tarlós is already doing.

Orbán will reportedly brief the constituency chairmen on February 4, inform local authority leaders and mayors on February 6 and speak about the referendum at the start of the spring session of Parliament on February 11.
