Gyurcsány supporters plan sympathy demonstration for Saturday

Leftist online community Kapcsolat.hu is planning a sympathy demonstration for Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány again, six weeks after they were forced to cancel a similar event due to “over-interest.” The organizers were afraid of participants becoming the target of insults by government opponents.

Gyurcsány’s sympathizers will stage a protest in support of him and the government’s program and against hate speech at Budapest’s Szent István park (District XIII) on Saturday, March 1, writes leftist daily Népszava.

Organizers are now being more careful about where they advertise the event. While in January, the time and location were posted on Kapcsolat.hu, this information is now being sent out to registered users of the site only.
