The economy will be the most direct loser from the coalition wrangling and after a social and political crisis an economic crisis may soon occur, Fidesz caucus leader Tibor Navracsics told reporters on Tuesday.
Navracsics warned that the governing coalition is endangering the future of Hungary “with their bickering over the remaining spoils and governing positions.” He opined that “following the departure of the Free Democrat health minister, the party quit the coalition, but they did nothing after October 23, 2006, when police devastated a peaceful Fidesz rally.”
Navracsics asserted that stable and predictable circumstances should be brought about in Hungary to enable leading economic figures to make investments and create jobs. He added that the coalition parties are unable to account for their words and deeds, and cannot gauge the impact of their decisions.
Meanwhile, Fidesz, according to left-leaning Népszabadság, is handling the coalition crisis by striving to keep it at a distance. Reports leaked from a meeting of the Fidesz executive on Tuesday suggested that party view the current situation is “unacceptable” and repeat this stance every day. However, the party does not otherwise want to become embroiled in the coalition conflict.

“October 23, 2006, when police devastated a peaceful Fidesz rally”.
Well, that was an obvious lie. The rally was well over when the riots started, but it is symptomatic for Fidesz – to be “economic” with the truth.
