Fidesz pol continues transition into mythical Hungarian hero, socialist friend

kover_toldi.jpgHigh-ranking Fidesz politician László Kövér, from all appearances, appears to be continuing the transition of his appearance into 14th century mythical hero Miklós Toldi, who was made famous by author János Arany in the mid 19th century. His latest statements on the Free Democrats, however, see him transforming into a friend of the Socialist Party, according to the statements he made reported at fn.hu. After blaming everything that is wrong in contemporary politics on the Free Democrats, (who of course, Fidesz was closely aligned with up to 1994), Kövér suggested that were the Socialists to buck their current leadership, who has been tainted by the Free Dems, Fidesz could perhaps work together with them in the interests of the nation, nudge nudge, wink wink. Which of course, carries the interpretation that Kövér might be transitioning into more than just Toldi…

    Did not Guyrscany and Kövér attend the same school at the same time (but not the same class)?
    Were not both active in KISZ (Communist Youth Organization)?
    What could be more appropriate than they get together one more time again – Guyrscany & Kövér, Hungary’s answer to Laurel & Hardy?
    Wonder what the Austrian’s would say about that…
