This was originally going to be a serious piece about how Gábor Fodor's chances to become Free Democrat chairman suddenly improved after a major fumble on the part of one of the party's power players, and how Bálint Magyar's aborted attempt to convince former chairman Gábor Kuncze to take up the post forced Kóka into the position of supporting the former chairman "for the good of the party." But it wasn't until we came across an analysis piece by hirszerzo.hu that we realized what Kóka had actually done.
Under Kóka's leadership, the party had started dancing a political variant of limbo, seemingly determined to discover how low they can go in the polls. In light of the recent coalition crisis and need for a new chairman election given the voting irregularities a year ago, Bálint Magyar launched the "Kuncze – Come Back!" movement.
Not only did Kuncze turn the offer down, but the power players in the party all supported this motion in favor of continuing their support for Kóka, which Kóka was pressed to endorse as well, so as not to lose his remaining support within the party.
Therefore, not only did Magyar openly announce his lack of faith in Kóka's abilities, but Kóka was thus placed in the position of also coming out against his own ability to lead. And who says there's no such thing as an honest Hungarian politician?
