The new system will provide Ft 7 billion in extra funding to compensate for the shortfall in the wake of the March 9 referendum, which abolished nominal medical fees, Health minister designate and National Health Insurance Fund director general Tamás Székely explained. The new agreement will allocate Ft 150-160,000 extra funds to GPs, paediatricians and dentists, he added.
Székely was approved as the new health minister by the governing parties at his House health committee hearing, at which the Democratic Forum abstained. Fidesz and the Christian Democrats praised Székely’s credentials but voted against his appointment.
The Chamber of Hungarian Physicians described the agreement as the most significant of the last five years. Fidesz said “it is gratifying that funds earlier siphoned off have now been returned.”

Fantastic, now everybody is happy, even Fidesz!
The only problem is that it took a national referendum costing far more than the amount bgiven back to get to this point!
And as a practical result of the referendum the interest rates on the States loans went up this year with an estimated 100 Billion HUFs. People saved maybe 80 Billion HUF to take away the different fees, so the State lost 20 Billion HUFs. The problem is that the people who need to pay the taxes are not always the same as the people who think that they saved the money for the fees. So the taxpayers have to pay more 180-200 Billions HUFs because of this Fidesz-referendum. Remember that when you pay your tax next time.
