A poster campaign run by MEP Péter Olajos to raise awareness of the pollution of the river Rába in western Hungary has met with the disapproval of at least one Dutch MEP, writes Index.hu. Corien Wortmann-Kool allegedly launched a tirade at Olajos, demanding that he remove the posters of “naked women” from outside her office. The posters show women wearing bathing suits to protect them from toxic materials, which makes them about as sexy and pornographic as the average astronaut. Olajos posted them in the EP building in Brussels to draw attention to the problem surrounding the Rába river, which has been foaming away for seven years now. The EP will vote about on new regulations to protect waterways next week, while a ban on bikinis in The Netherlands seems less likely to go through.
