Medián poll reveals drop in support for Orbán following “leaked speech”

Orbán’s speech to a small audience at the University of Drama and Motion Pictures on April 30 elicited interest from many people and a fortnight later two in three people knew of it, a Medián poll found.

Meanwhile three in four pensioners said they still consider Orbán as stuck in the past, while four in ten expressed disappointment. According to the leaked speech, Orbán said if Fidesz returns it will freeze pensions in real terms, vet several major projects and possibly even halt them in the interim.

A larger proportion of pensioners, one in two, said they now have a lesser opinion of Orbán because of the speech. Even one in six Fidesz supporters and one in ten Fidesz pensioners were worried by the speech.
