Fidesz politicians critical of Mikola’s words on Hospinvest

Magyar Nemzet, the Fidesz-friendly daily has been critical of former minister of health István Mikola, an MTI report at index.hu reports.

According to the report, the daily reported that it did not sit well with many Fidesz politicians that Mikola met with Socialist Mihály Kökény to visit the Kiskunhalas hospital under the direction of Hospinvest, where Mikola stated that he did not believe the much-maligned company was just trying to squeeze money out of patients.

Magyar Nemzet wrote that although many Fidesz politicians were upset by this, none of them would publicly state so, and they told the paper that Mikola’s words have placed him on Hospinvest’s side.

According to the piece, Mikola also stated that he believes private capital has a place in healthcare, as long as it is regulated, which according to the Fidesz politicians, is contrary to Fidesz’s position on the matter.
