Local Roma leader taken into custody

Police have taken into custody Mosonmagyaróvár Roma Minority Authority head Elemér H. on suspicion of abetting crime, fraud, forgery of documents and hooliganism.

Győr county police spokewoman Tünde Kocsis said proceedings have been launched against H. and his half-brother Róbert H, who are suspected of helping to transport several prostitutes to Austria and taking various sums from the women.

Elemér H. and a group of friends allegedly fought with several guests at a Mosonmagyaróvár night spot. H. also took part in forging bank documents.
