Informal get-together to precede Hungary-Slovak summit

The date for a planned meeting of the Hungarian and Slovak prime ministers has not yet been finalised but it has been agreed that the two will meet informally first to finalise a date for an official meeting, the head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office and Slovakia’s Deputy Prime Minister said on Saturday.

Peter Kiss from Hungary and Dusan Caplovic from Slovakia met in Tvrdosovce, Slovakia on Saturday to participate in a celebration dedicated to St. Stephen, founder of the Hungarian state.

Fico invited Gyurcsany for an official visit to Slovakia last October but tensions in bilateral ties had prevented the meeting.

Kiss and Caplovic have been commissioned to prepare the date for the official meeting. Gyurcsany said in June that he planned to have an informal meeting with Fico before the official visit to Slovakia.
