Foreign Minister Kinga Göncz held talks on bilateral relations and international issues with Serb Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic in Belgrade on Tuesday.
Jeremic complained that relations between Serbia and Hungary are not what they used to be, as ties were set back by Hungary's recognition of the independence of Kosovo. Göncz stressed that Hungary supports Serbia's European integration and she had carried with her a package of proposals on how to promote that integration. Cvetkovic and Göncz discussed specific issues, notably the construction of more border stations.
En route back to Budapest Göncz stopped in Subotica to brief senior ethnic Hungarian party officials on her Belgrade talks.
