The mayor of Drávapiski Zoltán Mali found his dog slain on Tuesday afternoon, in the wake of his launching an open campaign against usurers. Mali told Magyar Hírlap on Wednesday that several village residents had seen one of the neighbouring usurers escaping from the village by car. Mali suffered slight injuries after being attacked in a pub in Nagyharsány on Saturday.
Baranya county police spokesman Péter Zsobrák said they as yet saw no connection between Mali’s activity against usurers and last weekend’s assault.
