Given all the various challenges facing Ferenc Gyurcsány these days, it’s not surprising that some of the rumors about the tenuous position of our esteemed PM would turn out to be both false and distasteful. Here’s my favorite so far:
Last week, right-wing teevee station HírTV apparently recorded a conversation between Chancellery Minister (prime ministerial chief-of-staff) and Socialist Party deputy head Péter Kiss and Gusztáv Zoltai, leader of the Association of Jewish Religious Communities of Hungary, at the opening ceremony of the Jewish Summer Festival. In it, Zoltai can be heard telling Kiss, “[Christian Democrat Party Chairman Zsolt] Semjén told me you will be prime minister,” to which Kiss responds, “He did? Let’s hope he’s right.”
The spokespeople of the Christian Democrats (KNDP) and Kiss’s office both quickly responded to the report, the former saying that Semjén was “only joking” and the latter referring questions about the country’s next government to the former, which also seems to be a sly joke, as the cranky, right-wing KNDP is only slightly less likely to form the next cabinet as, well, Gyurcsány. On the other hand, given that Semjén is hanging around cracking jokes with the Jewish power-brokers…
Unfortunately if you were a real observer you would realise the Jewish already have the power,Gyurcsány is only a “front” man–fulfilling the same role as Bush, Bliar/Brown etc…
@Ricsi: Doesn’t it get monotonous listening to yourself. Your last 5 comments have all boiled down to one repetitive mantra. How does a one dimensional mind like yours cope in this complex world of ours – not very well it seems.
@VAN
Ricsi making a lot more sense then your naive comments mate, get real get Right!!
@Hotpaprika: But there is no argument or sense, just simple assertions, which betray his and your sense of inferiority and lack of a sense of control over your own destiny. And you then seek to blame that empty feeling you have by pointing your finger at an external cause.
You could do with a short 101 course in attribution psychology in the explanation of the ways in which people assign blame. Try, Eisner, J.E. (1995). The origins of explanatory style: Trust as a determinant of pessimism and optimism. In G.M. Buchanan& M.E.P. Seligman(eds)(1997). Explanatory Style. New Jersey: Lawrence Erlbaum Associates. pp49-55
@Vandorlo – As I highlighted in an earlier post, Simple minds dont like to deal with complex issues A singular repeated mantra is much easier.
Speaking of mantras and frontmen, Ricsi may be correct, but not complete. As a real observer, I’m beginning to wonder if Ricsi and Hot Paprika are not “front men” for some mysterious “indian gentleman” with lots of money. Hot Paprika was helping to promote a demostration to protest the overpaying for the website of some govt dude. My hunch is that this Indian guy’s IT company did not win the website contract, and paid off Hot Paprika to organize the demo.
@Kef and Van
Stop Bumjacking one another, it is obvious what you are doing, at least close the curtains and keep it in the bedroom.. I can see your dirty tactics coming a mile away!!
KEF
Well what can I say ! You got me mate !!!
A front man for some rich Indian—I never thought of that,and why would some rich Indian need a front man on this tiny little forum ???
Images of grandeur on your part,me thinks !
No,Sir, I am just me,plain old Ricsi,out to speak my mind having had many years of eye opening experience.I neither seek nor desire to spread someone else’s rhetoric or agenda.
Vándorló.
how much you assume when you know so little !!
I am neither suffering from inferiority or lacking a sense of control–on the contrary I am very aware of the circumstances dictating our fate,and I am not prepared to sit back like a little sheep and act ignorant until it is too late.
Thanks for the book references,but when I get as depressed as you then I will be too bored to read them,until then I need no 101 course in psychology –I am totally aware of whom to “blame”.
@R&H: No you were both right, that journal reference was completely inappropriate. This is far more fitting for where you are heading: “Decision-Making in Criminal Defense: An Empirical Study of Insanity Pleas and the Impact of Doubted Client Competence” Journal article by Richard J. Bonnie, Norman G. Poythress, Steven K. Hoge, John Monahan, Marlene Eisenberg; Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, Vol. 87, 1996.
@VD
Get a Lobotomy, would do you wonders!! would love to have you as a patient for Eugenics experiment!
Vándorló
You are one sad chap ! Get a life, get a girl ,drink some beer, but most of all throw away your shit psychology books and EXPERIENCE life for yourself !!
If you can only comment by quoting books then you really have no true input to this debate, Sorry
@Ricsi – you misunderstood (again). I said you and your green friend were basically stooges controlled by the “rich indian gentleman” who is funding the right-wing ideology. See, you’re the perfect cover. You dont know what’s going on.
@ Hot Pap. Oooh, insanity, lobotomy, eugenics, violence. Sounds like Hannibal lector except that he was at least intelligent. You dont need bother with Van’s book. Your insanity is plain for all to see (……….except Ricsi- he’s still wondering about that indian gentleman).
KEF
You assume too much as usual,I know far more about what “is going on” than you can ever imagine,believe me.
Unlike you I am not prepared to make allegations or reveal sources but EVERYTHING I say can be backed up and proven.
Why would I wonder about an Indian Gentleman that you seem so obsessed about ?? we have Russian and German gentleman happy to help—are we also stooges to “commies” and “nazis” or are you just particularly paranoid about Indians ??
Also your hunch that the Indian guy IT company did not win a Gov.contract indicates that he must be willing to try to work with the current regime–hardly evidence of a right wing funder is he ????
Stop assuming,think logically and look beyond the mere facts,I know you are intelligent and do not stoop to personal insults too much ,just try a little harder and you will be enlightened !!
Late now,too much work tomorrow,so good night !!
@Ricsi – I am glad you can prove everything that has been said, and I hope you do that in the appropriate arena. Till now, I have only seen allegations, claims and counter-claims from the right resulting in unnecessary demos and violence. Ferry admitted to his lies. What is the problem in organizing an orderly no confidence vote?
It was a joke meant to poke fun at the original idiot who didn’t realise how his statement could be interpreted, and all those who really thought there was such a person.
I have no issues with indian gentlemen (they are usually nice, sometimes funny
I am trying to look beyond the facts but I see only allegations. That is the main issue. Demonstrators who participate in violence (whether organized or provoked as you claim) are ultimately undermining the very essence of what they are claiming to protect, because these methods will be used against them later on if they come into power. The final result is that there will probably be no improvement in Hungary because the system is weakened.
KEF
Sorry but your naivety astounds me !! If only we lived in that perfect “vote of no-confidence” world you speak of ,if only the people could be told the real truth instead of been fed lies to the point that the majority no longer care–the goal of the criminals in power .
Actions speak louder than words.
Remember 1956,Prague 1969,Poland 1989 etc…
Even if action fails life can never go back to been the same,this gang of corrupt ,lying criminals know this and are constantly looking for ways to preserve their hegemony.
Sorry Stan, but you do live in the imperfect world where you can exercise the vote of no-confidence. The only problem is you are too weak to exercise it successfully since you are the minority in the parliament. That’s democracy. Live and learn. Hopefully, it doesn’t take another 19 years for Hungarians to learn that.
The above comments were directed at Ricsi. My mistake:(
@Kef
Only problem is that Ferenc Bacsi Lied to win elections, did you forget that! Look at the huge support of the right wing parties in our neighbourhood, recent elections in Austria.. Your days are numbered..
@Hot Pap – No, I didn’t forget about lies. Politicians lie all the time to win votes. Sometimes, despite the lies, they still lose.
I honestly think Hungary would have more reason than me to fear the far right wins in Austria. You’re not exactly seen as equals.
@kef you overlooked a minor detail, dont most right wing peace movements anti Zion? and if this is the case i would rather them as my neighbours.
