Opposition Fidesz, Christian Dems to attend meetings initiated by MDF, SZDSZ

Main opposition Fidesz and its Christian Democrat ally on Tuesday said they would attend opposition meetings initiated by leader of conservative Democratic Forum as well as the one called by liberal Free Democrats.

Fidesz deputy chairman Mihaly Varga and Zsolt Semjen, chairman of the Christian Democrats (KDNP) said they would represent their parties at the meetings.

Ibolya David, leader of the conservative Democratic Forum, has called a meeting of the opposition parties for Wednesday, to discuss the tax package put forward by Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany.

Free Democrat leader Gabor Fodor has called a meeting for next Thursday, to discuss setting up an expert government and ousting Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany.
