Recent Democratic Forum leadership candidate Kornél Almássy claimed yesterday that Forum leader Ibolya Dávid and her associates resorted to threats that were “reminiscent of the underworld” to force him to withdraw his nomination for the post of Forum leader two weeks ago.
He denied gathering incriminating data against Dávid, but admitted that he had spoken with the president of UD security company József Horváth on several occasions, and had once met him at Európa Café in downtown Budapest.
Almássy called on delegates to vote against Dávid at the Forum party convention on Saturday. He added that, despite the fact that he cannot work with Dávid, he will not quit the caucus and asserted that she should resign.
Caucus leader Károly Herényi said in response that nothing of what Almássy had said is true, and his words were those of “a deranged mind”.
