NATO officials assessed a regiment in charge of airspace control at Veszprém for a week and deemed it “capable of carrying out duties,” unit commander Pál Szűcs told the state news agency MTI at the weekend.
A total of 80 supervisors from 12 member countries also checked the logistic and defence capabilities of the regiment and only formulated “certain expectations” regarding technical equipment.
