Foreign Minister presents award to American counterpart, wins “Palin” prize for dumb comments on US politics

kinga-medal.jpg

Like lots of educated, worldly Americans in Budapest, my wife has recently been stomping around the house raging about Sarah Palin, on the grounds that John McCain’s running mate doesn’t know jack about foreign policy (among other things). Well, judging from this article in yesterday’s Washington Times, the moose-shooting ignoramus from Wasilla has some serious competition in Hungarian Foreign Minister Kinga Göncz, pictured above giving a medal to soon-to-be-ex US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Just consider:

With all the debate over foreign policy in the presidential election, the foreign minister of Hungary on Tuesday found little difference between Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama after meeting with advisers to the Republican and Democratic candidates.

And:

Mrs. Goncz expressed relief over the similarities in the views of the two presidential candidates because Europe wants assurances that U.S. foreign policy will be consistent regardless of who wins the White House in November.

Now, maybe I’ve missed something while the world economy has been going to hell, but I thought there was supposed to be an Alaska-sized gap between the McCain and Obama platforms on foreign affairs. Moreover, have you ever heard anyone in Europe say that we “need continuity” between the Bush Administration and whoever takes over next January? Duh!

Where is the solid difference between your two candidates ??? Both are quick to suck up to the zionist AIPAC lobby, both have no real vision regarding Iraq or Afghanistan, both have no idea how to solve the crashing Dollar ,both will put Israeli
agenda first before even there own country !!
Spot the differences indeed—more of the same as usual.
Only Ron Paul had any real vision, but the banking elite could not allow him to interfere in there cosy little created crisis !
Göncze maybe sucking up to Rice (WHY ?? what good as US relations really done for Hungary ??) but she is on the card when she sees no difference’s.

I just need to say something about Ron Paul (mainly because I hear some liberal lefties also supporting his opinions). Yeah sure, he says some nice things about curbing big money’s influence but have you seen the rest of his voting record. The guy’s a paid up, certified anti-choice, anti-environment, anti-foreigner loony candidate. He’s just a rogue Republican who’s so far out on the right, even for that party of delusionists, that he has to be an ‘independant’.
@Ricsi. For sure the Zionist lobby is strong in the US, but don’t get too obsessive about them. My favorite way to wind a Zionist up; just keep calling Israel Palestine. Worked for our Jack Straw, wound up the Israeli Govt no end and they couldn’t even accuse him of anti-semitism, because he’s Jewish (just not a Zionist).
Regarding how a change in the US’s top post affects us Europeans, it doesn’t matter much really does it. It’s all window dressing. Both Peachy or McCainOvenChips will have to adopt a ‘business as usual’ stance to preserving the US world hegemony. ‘Continuity’ will be preserved, mainly to facilitate the right for lard-buckets from Ohio to gorge themselves on junk-food and drive tanks that use as much gas per day as a small African city in a week.
Suitably non-committal comments from Kinga Göncz. She knows not to offend anyone until the winner is decided (probably by the effing Supreme Court again, judging from the shady vote-rigging measures already being observed in places like Florida).

Ricsi, “both have no idea how to solve the crashing Dollar”
Where do you get your information from, a time machine? The dollar is at a 1 year high against the Euro so you look like a clown. Why not throw in the Sox winning the world series. Read the news every once and a while rather than your anti-semantic pamphlets.

The Dollar is at a ONE year high (WOW !!!) only because of a market reactzion to a proposed 700 billion bail out of the collapsing bank system–wait until after the elections and then we will see !
AS a top anayst said yesterday–”The dollar is simply on borrowed time,SELL NOW because it is really worthless toilet paper if the truth be known !!”
Buy Swiss Francs,Chinese Renmbi,NZ Dollar or best of all Gold because the Dollar is going down so fast very soon .

  5. Ricsi says:

    SORRY
My previous comment was aimed not at Demagogue but at NEVERMIND—who obviously can not use his own mind !!!!
Demagogue–you are correct in saying that they are all one the same, though I thought Ron Paul might have been a breath of fresh air–but he had no chance realistically ces’t le vie !

    Ricsi-
Your grasp of the currency markets is appallingly simple, which based on the other points in your first rant is not surprising…Hey, let’s blame the Jews.
Please answer me this, if the gain in the strength in the dollar is due to the bailout, how is it that the current rally started back in July?
The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance — it is the illusion of knowledge

  8. Tunde says:

    A picture is worth a thousand words…
@Nevermind. There is nothing backing the dollar. The bailout will be financed by loans from foreign countries, mainly China. It is only a matter of time before the bubble bursts.
And by the way, the “value” of all currencies, as oil and many commodities, are manipulated.

  9. Demagogue says:

@Ricsi. Thanks for the investment advice but you can be safe in the knowledge that I’ve never had much truck with the almighty greenback. After the Great Depression I moved most of my considerable fortune into opium poppies, indigo, molasses, Malaysian slaveboys and frozen concentrated orange juice.
But seriously, I agree that the funny money economy that has enabled so called continued growth in the US and UK since the mid-nineties was a big, big bubble waiting to burst.

  10. Nevermind says:

Tunde- It’s not popularity contest. You seem to know something about the value of the dollar that central bankers are missing. If you make a huge bet the “bubble” will burst, and it might, you could make billions and open up another CEU. BTW, foreign ownership of US debt accounts for 25% of the whole. Japan is the largest holder, followed by China. Why? Because Americans buy goods from those countries leaving them with lots of USD. Do you have something against Chinese holding US assets?

Still trying to impress by quoting from others ??
Try to be original ,open your eyes and you might find out that you were the one who was ignorant !
(my quote, but you can re-use it any time !!)

  12. Nevermind says:

With zingers like that I’m sure you will be quoted throughout time. But for now I will just use: “It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt”…not my words but fitting.

  13. Ricsi says:

    Nevermind
So you want to play like a child, throwing quotes at each other ?? You should learn from them before using them.
Reply if you wish but I personally am moving on to more intellectual things, enough valuable time wasted. Good bye

  14. Dubious says:

Actually, there is very little difference between the two major candidates’ policies. Both of them try to talk up differences on Iraq, but if you look at the wiggle room and exclusions, both basically have the same policy: to withdraw the troops as soon as possible as long as the situation “on the ground” allows it.

  15. hotpaprika says:

The only difference is ones Black the other white!! There both Puppets.. There agenda is whate Palestinian Jews dictates to them.. Wake up smell the roses!!

  16. Rolrox says:

I wish I could get a good handle on the differences between the candidates; especially on the items that affect those American expats (like me). I’d like to hear something about our idiotic taxation of expats (keeps you overseas, offers an 85K allowance but ignores 1/2 the “taxes” you pay, demands that you pay 2 times (self employed) FICA regardless of also paying such overseas; or having to pay benefits-in-kind taxes for having a body guard (I work in the CIS from time-to-time).

While I like “less” govt; McCain has started to sound more-like Bush. I’m hoping if elected he returns to being his “own man”. Obama sounds more intelligent, but a US-TB system and promising to “change” without as to what or funding is, well, a … scary!

I’m so stumped that I just cannot send in my ballot yet. I’m waiting for that “ohmygosh” revelation that happened AFTER I sent in my Primary ballot.

Regardless of whether they are “puppets”, they are giving us “policy views” that should attract (or alternatively scare off) support from the electorate. What’s your point @hotpap? Can you even vote?

For sure, US USD policy (eg. not raising rates) has hurt the world. The USD is the “reserve currency”. The US convinced the world to replace gold with it some 30 years ago.

But most of todays crisis is gov’t failing. Rather its the Fed and those “clever” bankers & ratings agencies that facilitated packaging up manure and selling it as AAA ground beef

  17. hotpaprika says:

    @Rolrox
Point is both canditates are useless as tits on a Bull, that no matter what policies they may say to influence your vote, that there main agenda is to maintain and fund Palestinian Jews and to keep them from being revealed to the mainstream. International Bankers have been running your politics since the great depression!!
There the ones that need to be exposed! You require to educate Americans to who is realy running your country and the rest of the world.. and it is no conspiracy it is a fact..

  18. Robi says:

I had some respect for Kinga Göncz till this
    point.
Rice should go on trial at the International court
just like Milosevich! She is the first war
criminal who brings shame both on woman and black
people! How can she get away with it? The most
powerfull Country (till now)) stands behind her
    with it’s Oil War!

  19. hotpaprika says:

    @ Robi
Too much money has been spent already by Rice and her pack of Elite war mungers, save the court hearing and prison sentence, just like there alegations are never presented at court, there discissions are made on assumptions ie:terrorism, WMD and Osama to gain political dominance..
No need to spend any more Tax payers money.. Capital punishment!!
