Police have pulled a double barrier around the Slovak embassy in Budapest and are searching demonstrators who have come to protest “police excesses” at a soccer game in Dunajska Streda, Slovakia, earlier on Saturday.
About 1,000 Hungarians from far right organisations travelled to the game where several were injured in scuffles with police.
About 150 protectors gathered near the Slovak embassy after several Internet websites alleged – falsely – that a Hungarian had died of injuries at the game. Hungarian police issued a press release confirming that Hungarians had been injured but that none were in life-threatening condition.
Far right groups had appeared at a game between Bratislava soccer team Slovan and Dunajska Streda, a team from an ethnic Hungarian region in southern Slovakia. With football hooligans supporting both teams, police made multiple arrests and a number of fans on both sides were injured. Internet messages for days before the game promised that ultra-rightists from Poland and the Czech Republic would be supporting their Slovak counterparts. About 1,000 far right Hungarians took up the gauntlet.

“ultra-rightists from Poland and the Czech Republic would be supporting their Slovak counterparts. About 1,000 far right Hungarians took up the gauntlet.”
So, the Polish and Czech Nationalists joined their Slovakian Brothers against the Hungarian Nationalists. No wonder the different European Nationalists never can agree upon anything except beating up Roma, Jews and Chinese.
The Hungarian Nationalists never asks themselves why they are so hated? I mean the Polish, Czech and Slovakians have hardly been good friends in History, but they can still unite against the ‘Common Evil’.
This comes on top of the ‘revelation’ that the most admired Right-Radical politician, Joerg Haider, was a practicing homosexual. A bit of soul-searching is needed in some Hungarian groups?
OMG what a false article, who writes this trash?? I was there at the Slovak Embassy on Saturday evening placing a candle. Video evidence shows that the Soccer fans were assualted by Slovak Police! Have you no sympathy for a dead Hungarian? What gutless jornalism!!
Also there where 700 to 800 people at the Slovak Embassy Saturday evening in rememberance of the killing of a Hungarian, what false journalism!!
Ignoring the two posters above, I’d just add that it seems weird that Polish far-righters would side with Slovak far-righters against Hungarians, not least of which is because the Poles don’t like the Slovaks but do like the Hungarians. Something about this story doesn’t add up.
Yes, I had initially a problem with that the Polish and Czechs would support the Slovakians, but MTI has written in several telegrams something similar to “Internet messages for days before the game promised that ultra-rightists from Poland and the Czech Republic would be supporting their Slovak counterparts.”
This could of course only apply to “false flag”-messages sent by people who would like to provocate an Hungarian response. Those messages are probably written in Hungarian, so probably Hungarians are behind them. So which conspiracy theory do we go for here?
HotPaprika if you know the name of the dead Hungarian supporter, please publish it, because there are no official reports on any dead, that is just a roumor on your other websites. Probably the same that published the threat from Polish and Czech supporters.
