Hungarian radicals partially block roads near Slovak border

Hungarian radical activists mounted partial road blocks near the Slovak border at five locations – Rajka, Vamosszabadi, Komarom, Letkes and Salgotarjan – on Monday in protest against Slovak police treatment of Hungarian football fans, protests that all ended peacefully at around nightfall.

A local leader of the non-parliamentary Jobbik party told MTI that its action was in protest against “brutal police action” in Dunajska Streda, Slovakia, on November 2.

Jobbik condemns the Slovak government’s anti-Hungarian policy and accuses the Hungarian government of failing to act in the interest of Hungarians, said Tamas Kopetti.

Speaking to Slovakia’s news agency TASR in Bratislava, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico commented on the road blocks and said that if they had been staged in his country, Slovak police would have intervened. “That is the difference between Slovakia’s and Hungary’s approach to extremist ideologies and radical groups,” Fico added.

On November 2nd, Hungarian football fans travelled to Slovakia to watch a match between two Slovak teams, one of them ethnic Hungarian.

Slovak police stormed the stands of the visiting Hungarian spectators, several of whom were injured and taken to hospital.

Hungary’s government has asked Slovak authorities to present evidence to justify the lawfulness of police action at the match.

“So far the Hungarian government has not received any information that would justify that police action was necessary and proportionate,” the government spokesman, David Daroczi, said on Saturday.

yes, the hungarian radicals that normally would have been prosecuted in every other democratic country, but not in Hungary.

I coudn’t agree more, vdx….the Magyars have completely lost the plot as far as fascism is concerned. They’re broke and they like their many, many nutters in uniforms…..

  3. munkacsy says:

Vdx and Westerner, ever heard of USA?
They got real naczi parties and KKK making demonstrations with police protection. Perhaps the entire world lost the Democracy with the exception of Slovakia?

if Hungary had a history and a society like the US, then Hungary could reasonably have the US’mature approach to the market place of ideas.Hungarians, unlike Americans, did not die in their hundreds of thousands fighting AGAINST fascism and anti-semitism. Rather the other way round.
The US have 230 years of democratic development, Hungary 15 years. It’s all about maturity and historic responsibility. Slovakians seem to understand this, which is why THEY are very tough on these extreme right wing nutters.
But maybe I was not precise enough: It’s not that Hungary, formerly a fascist and then a communist dictatorship, lost the plot as far as anti-fascism is concerned. Hungary never had the plot in the first place.

Couldn,t agree more, there is no real democracy in USA or the world! Slovakia is suffering from inferior complex, so they bash defenceless soccer fans, gutless whimps!

no, i’m sure its just Hungary out here. I simply can’t remember seeing uniformed nazi extremists making oaths in front of prime minister office, walking over streets, nor demonstrating in any european city. Perhaps you would like to help me with some outstanding example like KKK or perhaps negro ghettoes in USA.

    Hotpaprika,
Ultranationalist hooligans from Ferenzvaros Budapest who, prior they were instructed to come and make rubbish, probably did’t even know where Dunajska Streda is. They’ve got what they came for. And you forget main problem here and that’s a serious portion of Hungarians that suffre from middle-ages complex and of lost sentiments of great Hungary.

  8. hotpaprika says:

The Hungarian defenceless Soccer fans were attacked by your Droid Slovak poofters!!
When are you going to learn that Slovalia didnt exist up until WW1, Slavs never had a nation, Hungarians civilised them and later they turned against them, now they deny and rewrite the whole History of the region, what a load of poppy cock!

  9. vdx says:

I’m not going to argue here with a primitive whose intelligence obviously licks treshold. Just one remark, take a fresh look at yourself first and perhaps you’ll realize soon that the only thing that remained in you from old Magyars after one thousand years spent in central Europe is hungarian language. So for the most part you are magyarized Slavs and Germans with hungarian language using as your cover.

  11. Vándorló says:

Discuss: “By 1820 Pest had become Hungary’s largest city, with more than fifty thousand inhabitants as compared to Buda’s thirty thousand. In the fifteenth century the majority of Buda’s inhabitants were Hungarians, and there were significant German and Jewish minorities. Under the Ottomans, Muslim Turks and Orthodox Slavs made up 50 to 75 percent of the population. By 1714 Germans constituted 52 percent of the population, followed by the Serbs (41 percent) and a tiny minority of Hungarians (5 percent). The relative proportions did not change significantly during the remainder of the century. Although at the beginning of the eighteenth century Hungarians had a plurality in Pest (40 percent), by mid-century Pest, too, had become a German city; in 1746, 67 percent of its population was German, while Serbs and Hungarians made up 17 and 16 percent, respectively.”
Also, look the the populations of the villages and towns of the Duna bend, most of whose names and street names bare witness to the low proportion of Magyar inhabitants at various periods of time.

    @Vandarlo Traitor
Good evidence how the Hapsburgs tried to Germanize and Slavinize the Magyar Nation, they fought against Magyars and we are still here today fighting for our rights to our lands! The land is still Magyar!

@hotpaprika: The language that won out is Hungarian, but the gene’s sing a different tune.
n.b. I’m British and as I haven’t attempted to kill monarchy, overthrow parliament or given up state secrets then I don’t think it’s too kind to call me a traitor.

Me neither. Or extreme right wing nationalist scumbags in power, spitting venom at their neighbors and wanting to invade them with tanks.

The comment written at 5:16 PM by “vdx” wasn’t mine either.

  22. vdx says:

    @you’re right,
you give one primitive too much credit. Or perhaps you give too much credit to yourselves, that one I can’t appropriately distinguish. When observing hungarian activities during last years, you should be jumping in happiness that slovak national electorate is tied up to one primitive Jan Slota with limited voting potential and not to someone much more radical. Hungarian diplomacy has been for the last 2 decades systematically trying to subvert position of Slovakia on international scene. Throwing dirt on Slovakia every time you can. Guess last night’s words of Ferenc Gyurcsány in your parliament was the fist human reaction to Slovak Republic I noticed so far.
Jan Slota is just one big hungarian cloak, so that Hungary musn’t engage in negotiations with Slovakia. Hungarian representatives won’t negotiate with Jan Slota. They would talk to prime minister Fico, vice-president Caplovic and foreign minister Kubis. All of them had repeatedly condemned expressions of Jan Slota. Jan Slota is not even part of slovak government, he’s continuosly critized for his verbalisation. All this witch-hunt for Jan Slota is just one big hungarian mask and seeking for excuses.
    @”vdx” from 6:09 PM
    get lost, infantile jerk.

Sometimes I think the Magyars somehow lack the gene which prevents you from making a total fool out of yourself.
Let’s understand this: the Magyars, history’s natural born losers (955, Mongols, Turks, Vilagos, then the malign but unsuccessful magyarization campain, Trianon, World War Two)….the Magyars are comparing themselves to the United States of America???????
Magyaristan before World War 1: a magyar ethno-dictatorship
Magyaristan after World War 1: a military dictatorship cheerfully degenerating into fascism
Magyaristan after World War 2: a communist dictatorship
For God’s sake: three dictatorships in only one century. Screwing up comes naturally to you doesn’t it? And you compare this totalitarian goolash to the land of the free, home of the brave????

  24. Stan says:

    Letusreason,
Your favorite song must be “Dunno much about history”
Obviously no one is trying to compare Hungary and the US. Hungary is far behind in stupid wars, for example:
Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq I, Iraq II, Afghanistan, etc. Pretty long line of blunders. With the exception of WWII Japan, no one forced you into any conflict, (not counting your leaders in Israel). You just cannot stay put and save a few bucks for the taxpayers. Tell me what did you get out of the 1 trillon dollar Iraq adventure? Cheap gasoline? I paid 99cents for a gallon before the stupid war, now it’s more the $3. You hanged one Hussein then elected another. Good luck, you’ll need it.

  25. Letusreason says:

    Stan…
    don’t even try, Stan….
Civil War: a war against racism and a war to make us live up to the ideals of our own consitution
World War 1: a war in order to help western democracies against autocratic retards like the Hohenzollerns, the Habsburgs and the Magyars
World War 2: a war to safe the world,a war Hungary spent deep in Hitler’s bum
    Corea: Containment
Vietnam: agreed, a blunder (real democracies are capable of selfcriticism; is that concept known in Magyar thinking?)
Iraq 1, Iraq 2: ultimately a war to remove a genocidal maniac, a sort of Arabic Szalasi, from power
Afghanistan: a war destined to help the Afghans back on their feet, rebuilding the country
Israel? We support Israel because we have learnt a lesson from history: democracies do not let each other down, you see: in Munich 1938, the Brits and the frogs betrayed the democratic republic the Czechs and Slovakians were running since 1918, so that Hitler and his Magyars could kick it to death. We will not repeat that. Never again.

  26. Hotpaprika says:

    Letusreason,
The song is getting a bit repetitious!

  27. Stan says:

    Letusreason,
Civil War – the “Unnecessary War”, ego-trip for Lincoln, no one really cared about slaves, Lincoln promised to get rid of them, remember the Liberia project.
Lincoln took half of individual liberties away from the good and patient folks of the US, the second part was taken by FDR.
“Land of the free”? Not any more…You have Patriotic Act, but few real patriots. You have zionist media, artificially generated paranoia, you really believe that the Iraq war was about a “genocidal maniac”?
Where were you in 1956? Promoses, promises, then a big letdown, the friggin Israelis and Arabs stole the show with the Suez canal, while we were destroyed by the Russians.
If your politicians had any brains, you would have listened to good old General Patton, and kick the Russians back to the stone age in 1945.
They didn’t have the Bomb yet, that was your last chance to keep them commie bastards from taking over half of the world.
You Stalin-lovers don’t even try to criticise Hungary, we’re a small country in the center of all trouble, without good choices. Staying alive here is a major achievement.

    Where to begin ???
    Civil war–not disagreeing with you.
World war 1– Western democracies ? like the British empire, czarist Russia fighting their blood brothers the German empire and Hapsburgs (let us not forget that it was only after 1848 that Austria “partly” accepted Hungarian autonomy, Hungary was by no means independent)
WorldWar 2, Hungary sought to regain stolen lands after Trianon, and siding with a resurgent Germany seemed the only choice. Both France and the UK were building up a little entente of serf states-Czech,Yugoslavia,Romania-and when the war came they proved they could do nothing to help them.
    Korea (correct spelling) agreed
    Vietnam agreed
Iraq–He was your “best friend” witness Rumsfeld licking his arse almost, you financed and armed him, but when he did not follow your instructions–out he went ! With friends like the current USA who needs enemies ??
Afghanistan- ARE YOU REALLY SERIOUS ??? The Taliban are everywhere, drugs booming and no stability after 8 years, you are still bombing wedding parties-way to win hearts and minds !!
You do not have enemies, you are creating them.
Israel– Ah ,yes ISRAEL–let me make this simple, they OWN you and you are too dumb to see it, AIPAC etc pull the strings, look at Obama and his new team -Brezhinski (war monger, zionist) and Ralph Emman ( I think that is his name LOL ) another war mongering zionist with an Irgun terrorist father .–consorting with known terrorists ????
    Democracy ??? Israel ??? A joke

  29. Ricsi says:

My apologies for big mistake–Rahm Emanuels is the name of the zionist war monger with a known terrorist father.
