Concern as “white powder” packages show up at Socialist Party offices

Following reports that an MSZP office in Debrecen received a box containing white powder, similar incidents have occurred in Újpest, District XII and the Fejér County MSZP offices, zoom.hu reports.

The powder received in Székesfehérvár is currently being examined in Budapest. It was accompanied by a letter containing abusive language toward the Socialist Party. András Horváth, president of the Socalist Party’s Fejér County organization added that the Fejér County offices were cleaned for six hours, and that the cost of this action could run into the millions of forints.

Horváth continued that acts such as this should be condemned to prevent copycat incidents. As to what the powder actually was, he said results would be back in 48 to 72 hours.
