Gyurcsány presents awards to mark “day of minorities”

Hungary’s Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany presented awards in parliament on Thursday, marking the Day of Minorities. The Pro Minoritate award was presented to recognise achievements in the interest of minorities in Hungary.

In a speech at the event, Gyurcsany praised solidarity and said Hungary was a country “where people of different nationalities lived side by side in peace and understanding.”

Gyurcsany presented the awards in the presence of President Laszlo Solyom and House Speaker Katalin Szili.

MTI journalist Attila Balogh was among the recipients.

Hmmm…last time I checked ethnic Hungarians constituted the majority in the country…..I see that Gyurcsany’s days as Commmunist youth leader has served him well….

The communists loved giving out medals and awards for anything and everything-nothing changed

  4. Gandi says:

Yes, I know. They promoted everything but hard work, personal enterprise and the will to make the individual strive….Basically, they awarded laziness, communal achievement = communism and awarded anything that wasn’t really Hungarian i.e. minorities etc…

A price for the biggest Gypo NGO what could steal the most Eu and Govermental support and use the money for financing Gypo crime! Or a Grant for the Gypo who raped the most white woman? Or just the Great Medalion of thievery?

These are very pointless and empty gestures. It’s not that difficult to promote benefits, awards and sweets while all minorities in Hungary were assimilated or led to the point of extinction.
