The Gripen fighter jets Hungary has purchased from Sweden will be deployable as of Monday, the commander of the Kecskemet military air base (C Hungary) told reporters on Thursday.
The 14 Gripen planes will be on stand-by service to patrol Hungary's air space together with the Russian Mig-29s and will undertake the tasks of the outgoing Russian fighter planes by the end of 2009, Istvan Peto said.
Hungarian Defense Minister Imre Szekeres will attend a ceremony of putting the Gripens into service at Kecskemet airbase on Monday.
Hungary took delivery of the Gripen fighter planes in 2006 and 2007 under a ten-year lease worth 210 billion forints (EUR 790mn).

I think bombers would be more useful according to the situation with neo-slavia D)))))))))))))))
Robi,
and do you have at least some hungarian names prepared for those fighters? So it wouldn't seem so strange in your hands. Gripen doesn't really sound very hungarian..
