Far-left activists detained for wearing red stars

Four activists, including Workers Party 2006 chairman Attila Vajnai, were detained at a demonstration in Budapest on Sunday for displaying Communist red stars, which are banned as emblems of tyranny.

Vajnai told reporters before he was detained that the European Court of Human Rights has ruled that the wearing of the red star is a basic human right in expressing a political opinion.

Until this is amended in the Hungarian criminal code, he is committing a crime, he added.

Workers Party activists built a sculpture from shoes outside the US embassy in protest against the arrest of Muntader al-Zaidi, the Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at US President George Bush in Baghdad on December 14.

So some of these idiots still exist !
personally I say let them wear the silly red stars, after all we should allow freedom of expression to the idiots as well as the gays !!

Let them wear the red star, and let us debate the jewish control of the communists, let us debate the holocaust--freedom of speech to each and all, or freedom for no one --Think about that..

Hi Ricsi!

My God, red-star wearing! "Annak a hülységnek az ideje elmúlt!" (The time for that nonsense has passed) There will always be a fringe element that tries to cling to this. I hope their demonstrations and parades diminish in attendance over time- it would be a healthy sign!
