Sándor Lezsák and Zoltán Bíró, both founding members of center-right party the Democratic Forum (MDF) have denounced the direction the party has taken as of late, fn.hu observs.
Lezsák denounced the decision to place Lajos Bokros and György Habsburg at the fore of the party’s European Parliamentary list, calling them controversial acts by a “media party.” He called the decision unfortunate and bad for the party’s future, adding that the party is no longer democratic, nor is it a forum.
Bíró meanwhile said the party’s leaders only act to keep themselves in power, calling it a case of “political prostitution.” He continued that it appears that the Free Democrats are calling the shots as the party has taken a new direction much more in line with the liberal party’s policies. Bíró added that the Democratic Forum sold itself and became a rump party.
