Representatives of Hungary’s Roma civil organisations on Thursday threatened to leave the Roma Integration Council set up by the labour ministry, demanding that the government change its Roma policy.
Roma representatives will only retain membership of the integration council if the government meets their demands to prepare a programme to eliminate Roma slums and create jobs with the help of international aid, said Jeno Zsigo, head of Hungary’s Roma Parliament.
The Roma civil organisations represented in the Roma Integration Council include Lungo Drom, the Hungarian Roma Parliament, the National Association of Roma Organisations, the National Forum of Hungary’s Roma, the Romaversitas Foundation, the Phralipe Independent Roma Organisation, the Civil Umbrella and the National Roma Council.

If the Roma want their own “civil organizations” it means they don’t want to be Hungarian. Give them a piece of the land, and let them build their own country.
