Despite starting out more or less as the Hungarian Justice and Life Party’s (MIÉP) youth wing, Jobbik has over the previous years supplanted MIÉP as Hungary’s largest party of the radical right, in no small part due to Jobbik’s public relations stunts that have used the media to raise the party’s profile. One of the latest such stunts is to place the controversial lawyer Krisztina Morvai at the head of its list for the European Parliament. MIÉP, however, has not taken a shine to this latest maneuver, launching a poll on their site asking the question of whose best interests Morvai’s candidacy serves. So far, most responses say it benefits the secret services (titkos szolgálat), with other (egyéb) coming in second. Clearly, however, MIÉP does not believe it’s in the best interests of the far-right, leading one to wonder whose interests they consider Jobbik to be working for.
MIEP normally charge everyone they do not like to be working for the Zionists and they regard that the Jobbik leadership is just doing that.
Jobbik on the other hand have a problem with MIEP because of their open anti-Jew attitude. Jobbik has learned it to play by the rules, even if most of their followers share the same values as the MIEP-followers.
Jobbik on the other hand is more concentrating in harassing Romas, then Jews, then it is less political dangerous to do that in Hungary today. It also plays in, in the Modern European Radical Right to create a White Europe and Judaism being a religion and not race, many Jews living in Europe are actually White Folks and everyone hates an Arab, right?
