It is important to call the attention of the public to the rising anti-Semitism in Hungary, Israel's Ambassador Aliza Bin-Noun told MTI on Tuesday, ahead of a two-day conference on the subject.
The ambassador called the Hungarian government's proposed amendment to the constitution to penalise hate speech an important step. A dividing line must be defined between the freedom of expression and hate speech, she said. Human rights must not be violated in the name of freedom of speech, the ambassador said, and warned that incitement to hate speech could lead to deeds.
Bin-Noun called it a "negative phenomenon" that the paramilitary Hungarian Guard had inducted several hundred new members at a public ceremony in Budapest on Sunday, and said that she did not have good feelings about the programme and ideology of that radical nationalist organisation.
The conference called Anti-Semitism in present-day Europe is organised by the Central European University, the embassies of Israel, the US, the Netherlands and Poland, as well as by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. The event is part of a long-term programme to fight anti-Semitism all over the world, Bin-Noun said.

Fuck Israel, this dude should look at its own country, we have the right to be patriots, just look att are history, but we are not bombing civilians like Israel.
@Sveamagyar: For what it's worth, Israel does *not* bomb civilians, at least not on purpose, and certainly not in the way that its opponents do. Indeed, they will punish members of the armed forces who do. And this is why some people who don't even support the fundamental idea of an ethno-religious state like Israel (myself included) can be sympathetic to the country. Just something you might want to keep in mind if you have a hard time understanding why the "fuck Israel" sentiment isn't universal...
Sometimes you wish Hungary had a Hungarian government. This would be a good time to ask the Israeli ambassador to pack up and leave, but we have no one with a spine to do it.
@Stan: Any other ambassadors that should also be sent packing? I'm sure if you spent a few weeks researching, you might find one or two with a Jewish grandmother or aunt...
I don't think that it is the place of Israel to speak out about Hungarian internal affairs...again and again!
Especially, the way they speak about people of non-jewish origine and in their deeds treat them like animals!!!
I agree with the ambassador's statement: "A dividing line must be defined between the freedom of expression and hate speech." It's unacceptable that radical groups attempt to frigthen minorities alluded to so-called "freedom of expression". Such a misconception may lead to an unnecessary and unhelpful domestic hostility between Hungarians and Gipsies and won't have a fruitful effect on Hungarian Christian-Jewish relations as well on the contrary this racial prejudice is going to cause a poisonous effect on life in Hungary. Her statement is nothing to do with Israel's war of terror against Gaza.
Yes, a truly Hungarian government for Hungarian people, a leader like Szálasi. Tell these filthy Jews to mind their own business! Who cares that they are representatives here in Hungary and their comments on local situations are uncalled for...outrageous. Better still, any one of you GD embassy people opens your mouth concerning what happens here in Hungary, pack your bags and go, you are what is holding us back.
If we only had a government run exclusively by Hungarians, none of these jews and gypsies, we would have our utopia, a beacon of civilization for Europe and the world.
Actally, a truly Hungarian leader would be an Austrian. JUST KIDDING...
People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Israeli ambassadors shouldn't lecture anyone about human rights.
Obviously this is yet another effort to create anti-semitism where there is none. The Jewish paranoia must be fed all the time. Our government (if we had one) is supposed to be in the business of making Hungarians feel safe and comfortable in Hungary. Serving the arrogant Jewish agenda is unacceptable. There's no excuse for this ambassador. Hungary would do just fine without an Israeli embassy, but free speech has got to stay.
Quite correct,Stan:"Israeli ambassadors shouldn't lecture anyone about human rights."
Why has Hungary suddenly become the centre of attention for all this "political corectness"? Every Tom, Dick, or Fucking Harry, coming here lecturing us on this, that, and the other.
We have enough problems, already.
Do the Hungarian Ambassadors to Slovakia, Serbia and Romania have the right to speak out against offenses (real or imagined) committed against Hungarian minorities in those countries?
Do past atrocities (real or imagined) committed by Hungarians against their own minorities have any bearing on these rights to complain?
Fairness and open mind, anyone?
Israel and the shalom brothers can suck a fat one (uncircumsized), lecture on human rights and all that, read the Talmud, then you will know the truth about the shalom brothers....
"Fairness and open mind, anyone?"
Why don't you ask that question in the apartheid state of Israel, where the population overwhelmingly supported the nazi racist extreme right wing in the last election? Lieberman demands a "loyalty oath" from everyone who wants to live in Israel. What if Hungary did that? The Israeli ambassador cannot take a little verbal criticism, but has no problems with waging a war on civilian population. Israel is losing support in the civilized world, and this ambassador just made it worse. It's no longer enough to do what you want and manipulate the media to make you look like the innocent victim. We're not buying it any more.
Gulli
Who cares? Most people hate them, have they ever
wondered why? Let me give them a hint... Israel
State, and its plan to "buy" Hungary.
I've been reluctant to comment on the Jews here in the past, because addressing the subject is like touching the electrified "third rail"; 600 volts up your ass no matter what you say!
Jews have rubbed people the wrong way long before the founding of the state of Israel, and for many centuries and in many countries, wherever they have lived. Why?
I think it's due to two primary reasons:
In the minds of people the world over,Judaism stands for the idea that race and religion can be conflated, in other words, God has chosen a people. So it's all about race and blood. The karmic comeuppance to this idea came in the form of Hitler and his movement, who also believed in the sacredness of race and blood. One false idea produces a reaction in the form of another falsehood.
The second big thing is more serious. Their "Old Testament" does does not mention a word about the afterlife! Based upon this, some rabbis question whether there is an afterlife, although they accept that there is a God! What kind of hope is this for people? Thus the idea that this life is all there is, and nothing else matters besides material things. The acquiring of money and posessions becomes the whole purpose and meaning to life, an idea that does not nourish or sustain decent people; life is too short. In our hearts, we know that idea is not right, nor are the people that believe in it.
FL
Please don't speak about Karma and the Torah, old testament, at the same time. Have you not heard of the Book of Job. I don't care one way or another about this 'chosen people' line some of you here keep pushing as the reason to its ok hate Jews, but if they are God's chosen, Job, not Karma, would only reinforce this belief after Hitler.
Fuck the jews. They can try to hide behind hate crime legislation all they want the truth will get out. People are aware of what they have been doing to us for the past 1500 years. From media, banking, communism, mtv, hollywood. We see whats going on. As long as jews continue to work for our destruction and spread their cultural marxism miscegenation bullshit. If the jews stopped fucking with us there would be no more anti-semitism. People are racist for a reason you know.
Jews should fuck off to their evil country of Isreal if they don't like it.
Wisnton Churchill:
"There is no need to exaggerate the part played in the creation of Bolshevism and in the actual bringing about of the Russian Revolution by these international and for the most part atheistical Jews. It is certainly a very great one; it probably outweighs all others. With the notable exception of Lenin, the majority of the leading figures are Jews. Moreover, the principal inspiration and driving power comes from the Jewish leaders."
@Cheri: I have a suspicion that if an African said the same thing as you - but substituted "whites" for "Jew" - you would think they were looking to blame the failures of their own society on someone else.
lol, i don't even know where to start, but, i will say that seeing as how Hungary is a theoretical democracy, don't you think most of the blame for the "jews buying all of hungary" should fall to the government. Lets get one thing straight, selling any item is a two way street, its the greedy momzers in the Government who sell the stuff, yet no one complains, only that the Jews are buying Hungary. Seriously, do some research. And as for their being no afterlife, don't be ridiculous, read the Talmud, there's numerous references to afterlife. Wish i had more time, but running out of my office now
Hungary SHOULD be left for hungarians alone, and have an all-hungarian government. Also I think all ambassadors of all countries should be expelled. That way hungary will be all pure and will have to take care of itself on its own, a thing which to date has never been done successfully anytime through history, but let's give it a shot. Think hungary can handle it well???? I say let's do it and see what happens!! Call it natural selection. Who needs globalisation when you can just let hungary stand on its own and perish? No country full of such narrow minded people will survive long.. I say do it!!
@Pisti: I'm totally down with an experiment like this, especially if we can do it like Bhutan, and have a law that requires everyone to dress in colorful peasant costumes or face long jail terms.
That experiment is right around the corner.
It is known in medical circles as TRIAGE.
Interestingly, the decision (who will be treated and who will be let to die) will be made by international politicians and financiers, very few (if any) of whom will be Hungarians. Judge and prepared to be judged.
Good luck y'all.
I knew that my comment would open up a greater firestorm than talking about Hungarians! You want a thread to go one for hundreds of posts around here? Forget the "insignificant" Hungarians! Talk about Jews!
I'm not generalizing about how Jews are, but how they are percieved by "goys". If anyone doesn't like my generalizations, it's not my cross to bear is it?
If you want to be a racial divinist, and a pseudo-atheist, so be it, but don't clothe it in religious ritual and humbug.
Erik, that is a strange comparison. You are assuming that all "whites" feel some sort of common relationship, which is not true. I feel that the Africans are perfectly right to blame many of their problems on colonisation. For one, there was little history of famine there until imperialism showed up (read Amartya Sen, famine sociologist). Africa is a net food exporter, so how is it they cannot feed themselves? Interesting that for the first time ever in Hungary's peactime history, there are people going hungry here. Also I really doubt that the Africans thought up of that bloody, disgusting diamond trade all on their own. I take it then, that you will be blaming the Irakis later when they will be incapable of forming any sort of normal society for a long time on them alone, and not the fact that their society was blown up.
The Africans can go reflect how they have managed after independence, which is not at all well. Their "leaders" have stolen aid which a gullible world has sent them, and people like Mobutu from Zaire has stolen the mineral wealth proceeds to deposit in secret bank accounts to the tune of billions.
If you think "Gyurcsi" is a mess, go look at Africa and it's despicable leaders, who steal medicines and food aid from sick and starving people.
Can anyone tell me what website I am on? I am totally confused. African nations make Hungary look like a paradise.
Colonisation!!!
I'll tell you about colonisation as it pertains to Hungary!!
Since 1526, we were colonised by the Turks, the Habsburgs, then the German Nazis and then the Russians! We were colonised BEFORE most Africans! We have all the problems that attend to ex-colonial people. We are still picking up the pieces, and we are doing a better job of it than the Africans and their "leaders".
Yes László Hungary's periods of occuption (I would not call the Turkish occupation colonisation), and present neocolonialism certainly put progress back centuries. If you agree with that, how can you say that Africa's problems have little to do with colonisation? And in Hungary there were period of advanced society here to be put back, look at where Africa was when it was colonised. That African leaders are easily corrupted (like Hungary's leaders) perhaps means that it is a culture of corruption that they learned, like Hungary. Also there are many structural development demands by aid agencies, such as cuts in civil servants and their salaries, which, according to studies such as “The other side of the Coin, the UK and corruption in Africa” lead to a rise in corruption. Also donors such as the World Bank and the IMF have done little to fight corruption there, and much to help it, as Patrick Bond writes in his book “Looting Africa”.
Jewish organizations and Jews all over the world, so it seems, are at this moment engaged in vicious and desperate campaigns in order to restrict free speech.
This goes all the way from punishing doubting the polished up Hollywood version of 'the holocaust', to criminalizing criticism of Israel's actions against it neighbors or talking about unreasonable influence of the Israel Lobby or the insanely high percentage of Jews in the media, and in some countries politics as well. Jewish journalists routinely report about surges in anti-Semitism, and just as routinely forget to tell that this 'anti-Semitism' (anger about Israel's treatment of Muslims) comes from Muslim immigrants. All of them wail about 'neo-Nazi' the 'extreme right', even though there is no backing for their claims.
In many countries in Europe there even isn't any 'right wing movement' comparable with the Hungarian Guard, but the constant talking about Nazis goes on at every opportunity. Reports from other countries are being distorted too, by twisting the truth or by just leaving key information out. They are obviously trying to create a picture of some 'Nazi conspiracy'.
Let's hope that Hungary doesn't cave in to the Jewish pressure.
Britain and France have already had their justice system wrecked completely. Here some documentation.
I've traveled all over the world in my life, and what I saw in Africa makes me want to vomit on my dead mothers face! We lost our independence before most Africans, in 1526, and we regained it after most African nations got theirs, in 1989! (Nigeria became independent in 1956, red letter year for us!) Unlike Nigeria, we don't have oil. We don't have a big country with a lot of resources, unlike many African nations. In spite of it all, we are doing far far better than most of those places.
Africans are suffering alright, but it's due to their own severe cultural backwardness. This is a part of the world where women do all the work, while the men sit around and do nothing. I wouldn't give them a dime. I have been a BBC contributor in the past, and many Africans see it my way.
The only usefulness Africans have for me, is that if I get too depressed about Hungary, I can always look to them for comparison and thereby cheer myself up!
All kidding aside, Hungarians constantly bitch and moan, and yet, when it comes down to it, where are your cojones? look at Georgia, Ukraine, Russia (Vladivostok), and all these other regions, where they protested night and day for weeks until some change was made. After it came out that Gyurcsany lied, there were protests for how long? And then it stopped. Yeah, there are still like 6 people out by the Nagy Imre statue every night, and thats it, all u do is complain. Man up and protest, stop complaining and do something. Seriously, I'm always trying to be moderate, and I'm just in a Hiszti mood, so couldn't care less if I offend everyone. You hate the government, the laws, guess what, Gyurcsany was elected by the Hungarian people, not the Isrealis, the Jews, the Africans, the americans, whoever, it was the Hungarians, yet with all the constant complaining, why aren't more protests? talk talk talk talk talk, whinge bitch and moan....
Kovacs Pisti,
I guess I'm not the first one who calls you a moron.
This "all or nothing" type of argument is so boring. No, Hungary should not expel ALL ambassadors, only the ones who deserve it.
No, we don't hate ALL Jews, only the ones who give us a reason for it, such as yourself.
No, we don't hate ALL gypsies, only the violent criminals, gangs and career parasites. Hungarians have been tolerating their tribal subculture for centuries, Israel would probably make an effort to just exterminate them, they like to preach tolerance but don't practice it.
Will G. What exactly do you mean by "doing something"? Protests didn't stop, but when it is pointless because nothing is happening, why continue protests? (And what does this have to do with the Israeli ambassador's statement?) We have here a government whose actions a majority of the public do not agree with. In a real democracy early elections would have been called long ago. They refuse to, until perhaps now, when handing over power would be the wisest thing MSZP could do in its own interest. Then they will be able to return in the next cycle when it turns out the country is too far gone to repair it in one term. Don't you think democratic elections are questionable in a country with corrupt campaign finance and little independent media. Re: protests in Georgia and the Ukraine. Easy to protest when you have money flowing in from the US for the protesters and their press. You are right though, the public could have forced a change without even protesting. The method is called a general, nationwide strike.
Tunde, I was just venting actually, and it had nothing to do with Isreal obviously, though the blatant antisemitism and xenophobia is a bit disturbing to me. Regarding Georgia, do u really think for a minute that the US was funneling money to Georgia??? seriously, Qui Bono, what does Georgia have that the US wants, that they'd "funnel" money to? So when they rioted in the Baltics, that was because the US funneled money? and in Vladivostok, when they had to fly in security forces from Moscow as none of the regional police would assist, was that too funded by the US? The protests in budapest went on for less than a week, so don't tell me that nothing happened and thats why they stopped. Real social change always takes time. I agree 100% with your last statement, and that was the point I was trying to illuminate, how quickly everyone just accepted the mediocrity. In all my years living in Europe, I've never yet met a nation that accepts mediocrity quite so much as the Hungarians. The worst word I've ever heard in Hungarian is Hat, because the next sentence is going to be some lame ass excuse. As for the Isreali issue, how is Anti-Semitism equated with Patriotism. Erik is right, the IDF never intentionally targets children or civilians, while Hamas and all the rest INTENTIONALLY target civilians in cafes, buses, wherever. How that is acceptable to any rational person I don't understand
Will G., just watch BBC international news yesterday, there are reports and camera footage from the recent massacres to say that the IDF were targeting citizens intentionally. BTW, do you remember that Palestinian reporter and TV crew that were blasted by a shell from an IDF tank about 6 months ago, the crew's camera footage clearly shows the tank opening fire on them, pretty sad and pathetic from a people who claim "never again".
Gather together all the comments on this page and you will find the reason why Hungary has an incompetent government and leader. (Not a dictatorship, but an elected assembly?)
And, little hope of things improving, in the future.
All the debate is illuminating and informative. But when do we get down to 'brass tacks' and start offering alternatives to the same old party political bullshit?
Enlightened? Yes! But still walking in the Valley of the Shadow.. because we fail miserably to bring about the changes and reforms in government and elsewhere. If we did. This would ensure we don't keep getting lectured and shit on every five minutes by every sidewinder who cares to show up here and take a 'swipe' at us.
Let's all try an be a little more 'positive' (me included) for all our sakes.
Gandi, no real comment i can make their ;), but seriously, and i'll keep banging my head on the wall here to make my point, how is it that to be anti-semitic is to be a patriot? She's the ambassador of the only Jewish State, what, she can't comment on the fact that Anti-semitism is on the rise? If Gyurcsany or the Hungarian Ambassador to Slovakia were to actually protest the treatment of the ethnic Hungarians in Slovakia, not one Hungarian would say, "mind your own business", though, I'm now touching upon the interesting ethnic/religious issue, i.e., is being Jewish a religion or is it an Ethnicity, lol. I for one am a Ethnic European who was born in America (1st generation) who happens to be Jewish by religion, but I don't consider it to be an ethnicity, simply a religion, but thats kind of the tricky part i think. As far as i know theres no country called Jew, or a country called Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Taoist, Shinto, or whatever, yet i've found that more often than not, whatever ethinicity they actually come from, Jews are generally refered to as simply Jews. Food for thought
@Will G - Interesting thought! How about this? You, as an ethnic European, born in America, have more rights to live on a barren piece of land, than a family who lived there for generations simply they have a different religion. I have a German-Palestinian student whose father was born in Palestine, and my student has yet to be allowed in to visit his Palestinian grandmother who lives in some refugee camp. Oh,.. his grandmother cant leave either.
Do you need to see a country called 'Jew'? Can't it suffice to see it being 'Jew' in reality?
Ah well, look, I'm not condoning Isreali domestic/foreign policy, simply stating my personal position. As for the whole refugee camp issue, yeah, its a thorny problem, but you need to do some research on how that whole thing started, regarding the occupied territories, etc. First off, the Brit's and the Jordanians should bare a huge amount of blame for what happened there. In 48, Isreal was just happy to have a thin slice of land, but after the constant attacks, they changed their policy completely. Seriously, go online and read multiple, key word being multiple histories of the region from when it was the mandate of Palestine till say 67 or so, and it's interesting to see how the neighboring Arabic countries handled the refugee situation.
I am well aware(maybe even better than you) of how it started. I'm more interested in a getting to solution since the impact of this conflict is global. I don't want to fall into the usual trap of obfuscating issues by going into British actions and Jordanian actions. The solution does not lie with the British or Jordanians, but in Israel finding an equitable and reasonable solution with the Palestinians.
The Geneva Accord is a reasonable solution to propose if Israel really wants peace.
I deeply admire the Jews, but that doesn't mean I like them or approve of what they do. That may sound like a highly conraictory statement, and of course it is. They thenselves embody a lot of contradictions.
What I think we Hungarians need to learn from them is how to effectively protect our interests, not just on the battlefield, but behind the scenes as well. We sucked on the battlefield, but even worse, we were clueless about peddling influence behind the curtain. When Hungarians rant on about the "Zionist lobby", I have to laugh and ask, where the fuck was the "Hungarian Lobby"? A little bit of money spread around to the right peole, in 1919 and 1945 could have made a vast difference. For that we didn't have the common sense, street smarts or sense of self preservation. For these horrible deficiencies, let's not hate them, but rather find fault with ourselves.
I don't like these people, don't get me wrong. What I do deeply admire in them is their vitality and self preservation. Anybody that messes with them is going to suffer serious consequences! I just wish I could say the same for our stupid suffering Hungarian people. We'll learn from them someday, but it will be in another century.
I don't think that the Hungarian people are stupid. Just that some are a little too inclined to think of themselves as victims.
As far as Jews go, I prefer them to the Islamists who are so prevelant in other European countries. At least the Jews haven't declared that they want to kill us 'infidels'.
Hi Leary,
You make a damn good point. I first became aware of the menace posed by Islamic fundamentalism back around 1994, when I was following the wars in Chechnya. I was on some Chechen websites, and there they were getting posts from all over the muslim world. It was the violent gospel of Bin Laden. Jihad and the sense of inevitable war with the infidels. Paradise promised for those who die fighting them. Western liberals have become tha apologists for these people, and seem unable or unwilling to grasp this.
Countries where such theocracy takes hold are simply backward, both politically and economically. Such "religion" provides an outlet for the deep frustration that many men feel.
The resentments that animate Hungarians are the products of our own history, which thankfully has not seen Islamic incursion for some time.
Palestine? Israel? Slovakia? Slovenia?
No. This is Hungary.
Send a Hungarian diplomat to Jerusalem with the message:"we have noticed an upsurge in anti-Palestinian activity resulting in the deaths of many innocent people. The random and systematic destruction of Palestine and its people must stop."
If the diplomat returns to these shores unharmed -he/she will consider themselves lucky.
Such cant and hypocrisy by Bin-Noun is neither call for, nor wanted, in this land, we call Hungary.
The Jews disowned him. His disciples fled. The Roman Empire nailed him to a cross.
Kings subsequently ruled in His name by “Divine Right”.
A thousand million have died for His “cause”.
A world religion founded on His teachings which has lasted 2000 years still exists today.
Who was this man?
Religion was designed to keep the population dumb. It works.
Stalin ruled by ruthlessly removing all the opposition whenever and wherever it came from.
If Hungary is a true democracy and freedom of speech prevails:"how come there are so many corrupt, communist-influenced, politicians still about?"
The head is about to fall. Why not take this opportunity to rip out the "rotten heart" that has been a malignant force over the past years. Bringing Hungary, and its people only shame, poverty, and disgrace!
My problem with religion is not when it is personal, but institutional. To organize a society around an officially established cult, whether it's Pakistan, Israel or Saudi Arabia, is to establish theocracy, something inherently violative of human freedom and choice. State sanctioned cultism always ends up curtailing the rights and choice of an individual.
Because all faiths believe they are the one true faith and that they speak for God, they are inherently totalitarian. Give them enough support from the temporal authorities, and it will be time to move to another, freer nation.
Our lousy curse as Hungarian people was the over-empowerment of the Roman Catholic cult. At one time the church owned as much as a third of our nation, in a lousy country where 98% were landless. Was it a good bargain? If we could rewind to the past, would we do such a thing again? I hope not! It's been long noticed by many that the Catholic countries of Europe seemed to lag in terms of business and industrial development, as well as the instituting of democracy. It was especially the last part that the priesthood fought tooth and nail, as they would have none of it. Should their cult fade away someday, I won't be shedding a tear.
Most of the comments in this discussion group gives an outsider the impression that the israeli
ambassador to hungary has been able to spark an
internal hungarian discussion. What i take from this is the following:
1)In Hungary exists obviously a misconception about "Freedom of speech".This right can and should not be higher valued as "dignity of men"
(menschenwuerde)
2)A complete blurring of lines between conservative and right-wing extremists and no political force to stop this xenobic flood.
3)A frightening lack of historical and political
facts combined with a nearly pathological habit
to blame others.
4)The israeli ambassador is well advised to continue expressing her concern about these developments as long as there is no credible, hungarian force to do so.
Dear hungarians, you have a wonderful country with
a huge potential .Do not mislead yourself again otherwise history will have to write annother sad story about the magyars.
Says Rapunsel: 'Dear hungarians, you have a wonderful country with a huge potential. Do not mislead yourself again otherwise history will have to write annother (sic) sad story about the magyars.
----------------------
Threats, already? Rapunsel, Israeli embassadors allege 'rising antisemitism' wherever they are. The one in Hungary merely joined the chorus. Knowing that 'antisemitism' is everything jews don't like, Hungarians should do what everybody does everywhere: just laugh it off.
Also in Sweden a foreign Embassy is complaining on the locals:
“We do not react to eccentricity by some lunatics whose Russophobia should place them in an asylum rather than on Globen’s stage.”
Official statement from the Russian Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. The best friend of Sophie, Reptil/Mr Toad/fabian and the other alias for the Jobbik-supporters.
The reason for the Russians being upset:

One can only say: Tingeling
The unfortunate truth is that anti-semitism is a Jewish invention and kept alive to this very day for purely commercial reasons :-(
