Only 20-30 MPs took part in the debate in the Parliament yesterday on the proposals of the Reform Alliance.
Free democrat caucus leader János Kóka, praising the proposals, said the state spends Ft 3,000 billion more than it should, a sum that should be cut by Ft 1,300 billion in the next four years.
The government agrees with some proposals and has incorporated them in the tax and pension law changes, said Finance Ministry undersecretary László Keller. However, he argued that cutting the state debt is not realistic at the moment.
“The Reform Alliance programme is a programme of opportunity, the government programme is one of fear, and Fidesz has no programme,” Kóka said.
