The opposition Democratic Forum will ask Prime Minister nominee Gordon Bajnai to support calling early elections in the autumn, party leader Ibolya David said on Wednesday.
David said that after taking the most necessary steps in crisis management, Bajnai should step aside, allowing the dissolution of parliament.
David said that Bajnai himself spoke about his lack of interest in continuing in a political role beyond the crisis.
During the recent search for a prime minister, “it has become clearer than ever that there is a compound vacuum of trust,” David added. This can crucially harm Hungary’s internal and external credibility, she added.
She said the fact that Bajnai, even before he enters office, wants MPs to sign a contract that they will support his programme “shows that even the governing Socialists’ prime minister nominee does not trust the MPs who stand behind him.”
MPs of the Socialist party and the liberal opposition Free Democrats are expected to confirm in a contract their support for Bajnai’s nomination and his HUF 600 billion worth of planned spending cuts at the weekend.

Huf 600 billion worth of spending cuts?
I suggest Bajnai forgets about “freedom of speech” issues, and concentrates his efforts on making egg, and tomato, throwing illegal!
His dry-cleaning bill is about to escalate. Still – he can afford it!
Err…
What ‘External’ credibility does Ibolya David think Hungary has exactly???
This statement show pretty clearly she hasn’t got a clue what is going on???
External Credibility… Get Real.
Bacsi. Not one of them have got a clue. A bunch of retards leading the masses to the edge of the cliff and bankruptcy. The transport system, the economy, education, unemployment, Roma issues, hapless politicians, useless administrators, large sums of public money disappearing without trace.
And just when we think it cannot get any worse …guess what?! – Idiot politicians driving around with CD plates on their cars.
GF has slipped out the back door – Bajnai hasn’t got a clue. And Granny, Ibolya David, is dictating government issues from the ‘wings’.
(Palinka time,once again, I think.)
