Fidesz activist allegedly assaulted while canvassing in Budapest

Fidesz council member Katalin Gubicza is vowing to file assault charges after a security guard threw her out of a Budapest apartment building some days ago as she was disseminating Fidesz European election campaign leaflets.

The 13th District council member was expelled from the building for trespassing.

Gubicza told Magyar Nemzet that she had been trying to put a nomination form into a mailbox when a security guard grabbed her by the neck without saying a word and took her out of the building. She said she will take the matter to the police.

Tibor Iványi, head of the unidentified security firm, said the guard had not the slightest idea of who he was ushering out of the building.

The Socialist Party condemned the attack on the Fidesz activist.
