Hungary’s cabinet will feature six new members, PM designate Gordon Bajnai told Parliament on Tuesday.
The new finance minister will be Peter Oszko, a tax expert and manager at Deloitte Hungary, while the Ministry of National Development and Economy will be led by IT expert Tamas Vahl.
Former deputy minister Laszlo Herczogh will become minister of social affairs and labour. Peter Balazs, Hungary’s first EU-commissioner, will assume the post of foreign minister. Regional development expert Zoltan Varga will become minister of local government and regional development, and energy expert Peter Honig minister of transport, telecommunication and energy, Bajnai said.
The PM designate also announced that the Prime Minister’s Office would be led by former transport minister Csaba Molnar. Molnar’s predecessor, Peter Kiss will be in charge of social coordination as minister without portfolio. In this capacity, he will serve as the prime minister’s political deputy, Bajnai said.
