The alleged assassination plot on the Bolivian president was probably a “concocted story”, Foreign Minister Péter Balázs told InfoRádió Wednesday evening. He said there are signs that the late Eduardo Rózsa-Flores and associates “had been preparing something, even an armed attack, but it cannot be proved that they had planned to kill the president or civilians.”
Balázs argued that if the authorities had monitored the group’s activity, or found them suspicious, they should have tried to verify their suspicions, or detain the suspects “rather than shoot them to pieces”.
“Hungary has only asked but is now demanding that the Bolivian authorities give official information about the commando operation last Thursday,” the foreign minister added.
A parliamentary commission has been formed in Bolivia to investigate the case of the group suspected of plotting to kill the president.
Meanwhile, the honorary consul visited imprisoned Hungarian Előd Tóásó, who sought consular protection after being captured last week.
I’m from Bolivia, and I can asure you that there was no plan to kill the president. What is happening in Bolivia is very interesting, maybe you should look in to it. Evo Morales is popular because he promised change, but now he has installed a comunist goverment. This shooting is only the begining, if this comunist goverment continues. We believe that the police that killed your countrymen are from venezuela, because no local police participated in this operation. The photos they show as evidence are pictures of hunters thate are in facebook. The actual comunist goverment is using this plot to destroy the oposition for the coming presidential elections. Please don´t let your people die in vain. At least investigate.
