Hungary’s new government submitted a proposal for a 15 percent cut in the salaries of ministers, minister in charge of the prime minister’s office Csaba Molnar said on Thursday.
The proposal also contains other wage caps, such as scrapping special bonuses for the prime minister and ministers and prohibiting compensation for unused holidays.
Main opposition Fidesz has demanded that the government go further by reconsidering a bill that would revert the wages of ministers and state secretaries to their 2002 levels.

Have no doubts…
They will make it up from somehwere…
You know what, this is all just useless posturing and a waiste of time. As if this is going to do anything to put Hungary back on its feet.
All it serves to do is to distract from the real issues they should be getting on with.
They need to stop creating public sector jobs, get on with stimulating private sector jobs.
Oh, and did I mention the tax cuts they should be doing in order to achieve this.
Considering that for most fat cat corrupt politicians, their official pay is pocket money compared to what they defraud Hungarian citizens out of each and every year…..
Giving them 15% less is not going to cause any discomfort!
