The main opposition Fidesz party calls for resolute action against anti-Roma violence and against incitement to hatred but also opposes branding Hungary as a whole as racist, a Fidesz parliamentary official told MTI after talks with European Commission Vice-President Jacques Barrot in Budapest on Friday.
Zoltan Balog, head of the human rights committee, and Barrot, EU Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security, agreed that incitement to hatred and murders are inacceptable and intolerable in a democracy, and that all political forces should join forces to prevent them.
At the same time, they called it unfortunate if the whole population of the country is branded as racist before the perpetrators of certain anti-Roma crimes are arrested.
Over the past half a year five Roma people were killed in three Hungarian localities by perpetrators believed to be belonging to the same circle. To date, however, none of the killers have been arrested.
It used to take Fidesz a while to ‘Re-write’ history..
But we’re now managing to do this inside a week or two??
We can now cliam to have reached ‘Russian’ levels of dis-information!!!
The value of ‘TRUTH’ just took another nose-dive?
How truly sad..
