Government backs probe of alleged radical group within police

The government gives its full backing to an investigation of an organisation within the police force to be conducted by parliament’s national security committee, Deputy Justice Minister Dezso Avarkeszi said in parliament on Tuesday.

Avarkeszi responded to remarks by Jozsef Gulyas, deputy of the liberal Free Democrats, concerning TMRSZ (Ready-to-Act Trade Union).

As an illustration to TMRSZ activities, Gulyas quoted from a publication of the group, which said that “Jews are trying to trigger a civil war between Roma and non-Roma in the country.”

Gulyas noted that the head of TMRSZ was included in the radical nationalist Jobbik party’s list of candidates for the European Parliamentary elections.

According to Gulyas, TMRSZ now has 5,200 members, over 10 percent of the whole police force.

So over 10% of the force have seen the light, excellent news.
Does no one else see the obvious deliberate escalation of reports about ‘gypsy crime’ and ‘neo-nazi/racism’ trying to split apart society as well as distract people from the real ills of the county.

Agreed, Fabian! It is also heartening that this shaky government knows it is not coup proofed. The nationalist loyalty of the Hungarian military and police was the backbone of the 1956 Uprising. (Remember Police Chief Kopácsi and Colonel Maléter?) Clearly, this government fears a repeat performance. But what is it planning,if it is nervous about TMRSZ: another assault on the Hungarian public? I should love to read your insight. Never mind the spam machine/zionist trolls that crop up all over this blog as ‘Viking’. I no longer bother to read ‘him’, let alone respond to ‘his’ vacuous burblings. It’s your and other Hungarians’ views I am anxious to hear – particularly on the TMRSZ issue.)
