Liberal party head denounces emerging two-party system

Europe has bid farewell to the two-party system and Hungary should not vote for such a structure either, Free Democrat chairman Gábor Fodor told reporters on Sunday. He added that the liberal political community is a defining force on shaping European politics.

Fodor said there are three main trends in the European Parliament: those of the conservatives, the socialists, and the liberals, while any other political groups only play a marginal role.

The liberal leader underlined that Hungary should not give up on the idea of sending liberal MEPs to Brussels, and asked voters to reject the two-party system at the June 7 European Parliament elections.
