Shots reportedly fired at anti-government activist

An unidentified person reportedly fired three shots at NGO Regime Changing Forum founder Károly Fáber near his flat in the 23rd District on Wednesday evening.

Fáber told right-wing daily Magyar Hírlap on Thursday that the first bullet hit a brick wall above his head as he was walking home to his flat at 9 p.m, causing him to fall to the ground, after which two more shots were fired.

Budapest Police press officer Oszkár Sass said the 20th and 23rd District’s police departments have initiated an investigation into the matter.

Fáber founded the Regime Changing Forum in 2006 in an attempt to unite parties, organisations and movements that seek the departure of the cabinet and a change of regime.
