Hungary’s main opposition Fidesz party expects early elections in the country just after the European elections, the party’s parliamentary group leader told the press during an election rally on Wednesday.
Tibor Navracsics said the current government had a poor record. He said seven years of a Socialist-liberal government had put the country’s development back 15 years.
Navracsics said the European elections would give voters an opportunity to give their opinion about the government’s work. If the voters are determined enough, they will expect Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai to resign and call for early elections, he added.
