Orbán says EP vote should “resound like thunder” against Socialists

The opinions expressed by voters on Sunday should “resound like thunder” against the Socialists, Fidesz chairman Viktor Orbán told an election campaign rally in Nyíregyháza on Thursday. Votes for Fidesz should remind the “Socialist-Free Democrat” cabinet that “the longer they delay their departure, the greater wrath they can look forward to,” he said.

Urging supporters to vote, Orbán claimed that Fidesz failed to remain in power in the 2002 parliamentary elections because it lacked 40,000 votes while 300,000 others cast their ballots for “another right wing party,” referring to the Democratic Forum.

Sunday’s vote will show that the majority of people do not want a property tax, or more austerity packages, have had enough of poor governing and that nobody can feel safe because no law prevails in Hungary, Orbán declared.

Orbán disputed Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai’s claim that his cabinet’s first 50 days were successful, saying “one cannot speak of success unless ordinary people are successful”. He continued, “an end must be put to the thieving mentality, that one can make a living not by working, but from speculation only”.

People should not be allowed to transfer their wealth out of the country, Orbán continued, as “this must not be accepted, nor is such practice accepted anywhere in Europe”.

As regards what Fidesz might do if in power, Orbán said he cannot promise that things will be easy, but Fidesz will succeed if there is unity for taking the road which will advance Hungary. He reiterated his claim that Fidesz would create one million jobs.

Well, I am allowed to move money from Sweden to Hungary, so it is allowed. There is nothing allowed in Hungary, that is disallowed in the rest of the EU when it comes to money/wealth-transfer etc.
If it is illegal in the rest of Europe, it is also illegal in Hungary also, so just fake spin about the big conspiracy.
“Fidesz will succeed if there is unity for taking the road which will advance Hungary”.
So now the People need to like the austerity measures the next Govt will have to do, but there is a big *”if”* that will be used as a lame excuse 4 years later.

    Mr Viking,
I am afraid Mr Orban is wrong. One the fundimental points about the EU is the free movement of capital. I too transfered most of my wealth here – I sold a house and build a new one – No one complained!
The ‘All Highest’ of Fidesz says he couls create 1 Million new jobs – Yes he can they would dig new paths for the Duna and the Tisza. This would be to make Hungary into an island so he can pretend the rest of the EU and the nasty world outside does not exist.
