Fidesz rejects call by Jobbik for street demonstrations to force elections

Hungary's problems should be sorted out in parliament rather than on the streets, the deputy chairwoman of main conservative party Fidesz told commercial television ATV on Monday.

Ildiko Gall was responding to a statement by leader of the radical nationalist Jobbik party -- which won 3 seats in Sunday's European Parliamentary elections -- that the party was ready to campaign on the streets for early elections.

"Parliament is the place to find solutions to problems," said the Fidesz politician.

Gall added that Fidesz would initiate a parliamentary vote of no-confidence in the minority ruling Socialists. She added, however, that the outcome would be unpredictable due to the uncertain position of both the Democratic Forum and the liberal Free Democrats.

Well, 'late does the sinner wake-up' (or something similar) sounds rather descriptive on Fidesz reaction.
Compare that to 2006, then the Fidesz-initiated demos helped ferment Jobbik. Yesterday the reaped what they sawed.
On the other hand it would be interesting to see how many participants a truly Jobbik-organised demo would gather.
Nothing stops Jobbik from going alone, except their fear of being not enough.

Action is the right call...I totally agree with Jobbik...A non democratic Parliament is not the right place to find any solutions since Politics so fare have not found any positive policies so far...again TIME 4 A CHANGE..

LET'go on the Street! Voice of the PEOPLE!

I fully agree time to head for the streets I think most Fidesz people would be involved in a peaceful protests demonstrating how the country feels party or not. Do it before society becomes completely beaten by the current parasitic government. Get rid of the communist's "again" I saw that socialist lady last night suggesting some load of codswallop .. they are so out of touch with society if you were to look for a pic of a commi woman on wiki you might find her. Her references on Jobbik are hilarious given its most of their voters that have crossed not simply the impoverished but that reference in itself says enough about the woman and her party.

I think Jobbik look fresh, youthful, happy representing something new and for the first time a serious challenge. ibolya has no voice apparently something do with socialists having crap on her husbands tax affairs and fodor he should remain on the muppet show for mummets who don't wash. Jobbiks success is incentive for new party's to start and challenge a system that is so corrupt. The only concern on Jobbik being their association with a group of people whom apparently like to march in protest of gypsies in gypsy villages! If they can rid that association credibly they could be much more successful than people have suggested already.

Out with th the old and in with the new, bring in Fidesz and we can all start enjoying success sooner. I am hopeful of Jobbik and another new party creating a new more successful era of polit

Hotpaprika: take your meds and step away from the keyboard "Scott". I'm sure you fully aree with anything your Jobbik bar mates tickle you with, you pathetic twit.

Dozsa@I am sure you could be interesting if you could even write coherently.

Ricsi: our resident BNP and Stormfront poster. Been
on vacation for a while after Gulliver tracked him
down in Pecs and scared his blighty ass, now stupid
enough to resurface through the sewage again. Just
proves my point.

Nice work Jobbik........

Think before...before you act. Demonstrations and chaos in the streets; the economy tanks, the forint collapses, and foreign money finds a more secure harbour. That is the road to a place Hungary has been before. Was it fun the last time?

Greenshirt redux is right. Jay and Great Scott: although I can easily sympathise with your inclination to go for it, consider this: The establishment robber politicos have a stake in creating street chaos. Nationalist movements (Jobbik in Hungary, the BNP in the UK, etc.) are threatening to blow the whistle on them in the EP. They are in a good position now to do that, for they will have access to the pertinent information once they are in situ. Imagine how their revelations-to-come would be lost in a climate of civil strife. My guess is that Jobbik and Fidesz are fully aware of this. Hence the impressively disciplined behaviour of the Garda, and Orban’s warning. Please hang on, peaceably. Don’t let the rats trick you into street warfare.

Dozsa! Thanks for your concern,but I am NOT actually in Pécs and Gullible never tracked anybody down..his little canadian librarian did the dirty work--as for my holiday,well we are too busy campaigning to play games---hence the 14.77%/3 seat victory---some of us have work to do.
Take care

Sophie@A very valid point--think who actually benefits from total chaos! Not us.

Fabian, Ricsi, Greenshirt redux, Jay, Hotpaprika, Great Scott, Godot: Love you all! And I think we’ll be fine. The nationalist Spring has sprung; hear the ghastlies’ grinding teeth?

THANKS!! Sophie, kool chick :-) We are a force now :-)

Sophie, in your derranged world do you actually live in Hungary?

Do you ever PLAN on living in Hungary?

I do and i have hope now !! Socialists are finished here in Hungary.. So the bounce is back in everyones step, Szebb Jovot Magyarok!!

Good to see relevant and petinent posts on this forum once again! Long may it remain!
Fresh, new ideas, and a wind of change that will blow away the cobwebs of commie corruption and
incompetence once and for all time.

Sophie@Thanks--the reality is change is happening and these die-hard liberalist's can not never accept it,so here comes the usual pathetic attacks,insults 'we know where you are' comments etc... Guess what-We also know where YOU are so get a life.
Do not stop now Sophie-momentum equals success.

Dozsa@ where are you,still sulking? Don't worry we are too busy campaigning for the next great leap forward to worry too much about your type,besides the farm needs lots of work now--clearing pig shit is much more productive than listening to verbal shit here!

@Eric
????? this proves where you stand!

I can't believe how gutless you Hungarians are not even complaining about this Nacsi vadasz group who destroyed Hungary and continue to degrade Hungarians.

Hello Law,

The targeting of an individual on facebook, and naming an address of a person who may or may not have anything to do with posting on this website, is an actionable matter. Erik will have to do something. I assume Ricsi has written to him about it. This may also be a police matter if the facebook registrant or the addressee mentioned gets threats.

Regardless of what Ricsi has written here, I dont think it is correct to publish someone's address on these boards. His partner, and/or assets shouldn't be the target of any sort of revenge/retribution based on what he has done.
This is way below the belt.

@Law, Erik (it's with a K not a C) has more important things to do than check every comment left by any user, even if it hurts your ego to know that you aren't that important.

@Joe Dirt, doesn't it seem a bit strange to you that a Hungarian ultranationalist has only Serbian friends, not Hungarian ones. You geniuses really missed the mark on this one.

What I have done is notify abuse@facebook.com. At the very least this "Janko Ivanov" needs to know that he is now a target for threats and potential violence, as is the dweller at the address given. Facebook will have to do it's own investigation and take due action.

How do we know innocent people aren't being targeted? Publishing an address to me, makes this a matter for the authorities to investigate.

This website is a totally open portal, allowing anyone to post without registering, without having to give an email, username and password. The posters here can be tracked down by those with a vendetta, but it doesn't seem to work the other way around.

Merely deleting violence inciting posts from "nacivadasz" and others doesn't ultimately solve the problem. This site will have to be made more secure for it's participants.

If any of you should get threatening personal emails from anyone as a result of your participation on this website- contact the authorities.

The vigilantism we are now witnessing on this website can be done by anybody. Once you allow this sort of free for all, nobody is safe, whatever their political pursuasion.

I myself have not been a hate spewer, but let's not kid ourselves, I am a potential target as is anyone else with a viewpoint.

Maybe this is what comes from not having moderation standards, something that Erik has not been interested in in the past. Some people get a bit carried away, and others then want to take the law into their own hands.

@Farkas László: As you say, Ricsi's personal details have been known for a long time, so I'd be asking 'why now'? In the past he was far more vocal.

Ricsi's beliefs are disgusting. He has even threaten intimidation and violence himself, but what is to be gained with an escalation of this? I'd much prefer for the dirty bombs to remain verbal. I'd also say ganging up on someone is plain cowardice.

Physical threats and direct intimidation are bad enough. Indirect ones against others connected to him? I can't imagine they are the nicest people, but are they guilty of anything?

I make a point of linking to my website, because I know ultimately it would be futile to hide (well, not really, but such a pain in the arsed that the effort to use a website would not be worth it) and I believe what I say - if you disagree then engage in the unfriendly banter.

All those that spewed racist crap here are easy to locate, so what is the point? I honestly do think it's better to exorcise these ghosts. They are not going to go away and to be honest Ricsi, Bobscountrybunker, Pávaszem, Stan, justasking HotPaprika are the best poster boys/girls for ignorance and stupidity you could hope for.

Let the cretins talk. To use an inappropriate phrase at this time, I do strongly believe in giving people enough rope and they will hang themselves (kb. 'az ostoba ember a vesztébe rohan').

Hi Vándorló,

It may be as you say, but I'm concerned with this being a two edged sword. Somebody with a totally opposite viewpoint may decide to target others. I continue to remain concerned about the possibility that someone who has no connection with this site, may be innocently targeted. Who has the proof that the person named on Facebook is a nazi sympathiser? Who did the investigation? Would they like to share their findings and method with us or the authorities? Anybody could call anybody whatever they want around here and do the same thing.

@FarkasLaszlo
Your a champ mate! Hat’s off to you support.. This is one big eye opener and makes people experience how dangerous politics really is, after witnessing first hand how these people target individuals when only asking questions out of curiosity makes one quickly discover the pattern of who is pulling the strings behind the scenes .
Even the ridiculous attack on justasking from probably the one person attempting to disgrace her is lowest, but once one learns of who they are then you discover this is exactly how they are breed to be, have no compassion only greed and control at any cost, even eliminating one another in there frenzy for power.
Actually folks this is exactly what Hungarians have had to face for decades, first hand character assassination.
@Justasking sorry for you to have to experience this, but this is what we Hungarians are faced with in our own country, imposters tearing the nation apart all under the banner of democracy.

@Law: What would you know about Hungarians? First, Ricsi is soooo far from being Hungarian, in ANY meaningful sense. He cares nothing for Hungary or its people, he is just a pathetic puppet. He is to be pitied and verbally pilloried. But he can speak for himself, as he has in the past.

I do not condone those that have escalated this, but I can understand them, their anger and frustration.

I just wish someone would start to use the legal powers available, no matter how imperfect. Otherwise how is government and the imperfect institutions ever going to function.

This is what Jobbik want. This is the nightmare they have been dreaming of.

p.s. Law you have no 'character' to assassinate.

Hi Law,

I'm trying to be non-partisan about this. As you say politics is dangerous. Both the right and left have shown themselves capable of savagery. Many innocent people have been caught up in dragnets run by both fascists and communists. I'm therefore concerned about "outing" people on Facebook and publishing addresses. Those doing this may feel very justified in doing so, thinking that they are targeting those who they feel are intolerant. But let us be careful: "Aki másnak veremet ás…az maga esik bele!". I don't want to see any more victims; Hungarian history is filled with those.

That being said, I feel we should all be careful what we say around here, as our activities do have a way of catching up with us. I don't like a lot of what goes on in Hungary, believe you me. Nobody has critiqued Hungarian history around here more than I have, but my critiques are tempered by an understanding of the cause and effect that brings about certain things. I also see our current economic condition as a Pandoras Box that breeds a lot of frustration, anger and resentment. As I once said, this is a "Weimar" phase for us, and it gives rise to much scapegoating.

@Vandorlooo
Your a disgrace and embarrassment to even call a
Hungarian, I have nothing to say to your kind
because I can’t stoop that low as to have dialogue
with your traitors. Go away and talk to someone that
believes your rot.

@FarkasLaszlo
I see your point and it breaks my heart to see this
happening.
Back to the movies, another dude that was always a
hit was this guy who looked like Errol Flynn, Pal?
What do you know about him?

You mean Pál Jávor?

If so, let's talk on the other thread; it's more cheeful!

@ Laci;
Has nothing to do with "old" Hungarian actors, (well kinda sorta)but I do love my black and whites. Are you a fan of Barbara Stanwyck? She made this movie back in 1945, it was called "Christmas in Connecticut", anyway, in it she has an Uncle named Felix, anyhow he actually says a couple of lines here and there in Hungarian. He actually is a Hungarian and off the top of my head I can not remember his name. Anyhow, it's a great Christmas movie I thought you might like to check out.
