Vona says Jobbik to become “second force” in Hungarian politics

The Jobbik party wants to become Hungary’s number two political force, party chairman Gábor Vona said in an interview with Magyar Hírlap on Thursday.

Vona said his far-right party is planning to govern at any moment but would not form a coalition with any political parties. Jobbik’s greatest challenge will be keeping its voter base, he added.

He claimed that if Fidesz wins the parliamentary elections, Jobbik will support all initiatives and bills that represent national interests and attack any that run counter to them. Vona asserted that his party would set up a gendarmerie force to enforce law and order in the provinces, impose taxes on multinational firms, and help Hungarian entrepreneurs.

The Jobbik leader underlined that his party had made history on June 7: “political categories in Hungary are changing, and the basis for the new division is whether someone thinks along the lines of the nation, or merely exploits Hungary’s residents to turn a profit. Jobbik will govern on its own”, Vona added, “when the time is ripe”.

So, you squeaked into the EP based on very few
people voting (and as more of a protest vote than a
vote for you)and you call yourself a political
force? Most of the pundits have even said that
Jobbik didn’t get any of the Socialist vote, just
swiped a few from Fidesz. Which means that when the
real election comes, well, where will you be?
    Nowhere at all.

Imagine the next Hungarian elections :-) If jobbik accomplished 15% of the votes without any TV Media coverage then they will be a real force in the future. I wouldn’t be concerned, we should be all celebrating :-) )))))))))))))))))))))
