Far-right activist György Budaházy was arrested on suspicion of committing a terrorist act and on two counts of planning a manslaughter on Wednesday afternoon, Central Investigative Prosecutor General’s Office spokesman Géza Fazekas announced.
Police had originally planned to arrest Budaházy on Thursday morning but detained him when he appeared at the Budapest Police headquarters to announce a weekend demonstration, Inforádió reported.
The arrest was made after the National Bureau of Investigation found a link between Budaházy and the Molotov cocktail attacks for which a group calling itself Hungarian Arrows claimed responsibility, HírTV reported.
The group earlier assumed responsibility for launching a Molotov cocktail attack against a Socialist politician’s house, beating up HírTV host Sándor Csintalan and attacking a ticket office on Hollán Ernõ utca in Budapest’s 13th District.
The National Bureau of Investigation is in possession of video recordings that show Budaházy leading a target practice exercise at a former military shooting range and instructing unidentified people how to make and use Molotov cocktails.
Budaházy first gained notoriety for occupying Erzsébet híd in 2002 and has since been linked to numerous extremist acts. Detectives conducted a search at Budaházy’s house in Diósd, MTI reported.
Last weekend the most important extreme right-wing groups got together in Szeged for a conference. György Budaházy attended the gathering that forged cooperation among the various right-wing groups.
After Budaházy’s arrest yesterday, László Toroczkai (HVIM) immediately announced that the authorities arrested Budaházy not because of terrorist activities but because of his cooperation with Jobbik and other right-wing groups.
In fact, the government is retaliating because of the excellent showing of Jobbik. This is the first move against this successful party. Toroczkai told the media today that if the NNI doesn’t release Budaházy within three days they will organize a huge demonstration for July 4.

Both he and Vona Gabor took part of the Szeged-conference and anyone can understand that he is not a one-man army. Even if I would be the last one to use ‘McCarthy-ism’, it still stain everyone near him.
But, being someone who believes in that everyone is innocent until proved guilty in a proper court of law, it is important to point out that he is still not convicted. On the other hand, I strongly do not subscribe to any conspiracy theories that the ‘Government is out to get him’ or similar.

I think the Jobbik leadership will have a problem of explanation here:
They work closely with Toroczkai, at least before the EP-elections, and now he is claiming “if the NNI doesn’t release Budaházy within three days they will organize a huge demonstration for July 4″.
Toroczkai is an old partner to Budaházy so the question will always be there how much Toroczkai knew of Budaházy’s extra activities and if Toroczkai knew, how many other knew, including the Jobbik leadership?
As it stands today, Jobbik will not support the planned July 4th demo officially, but many members and supporters expect to participate. This will of course create a policy problem for Jobbik that will hunt them some time.

It is very interesting that this medium loves reporting about one ‘side’ only, but always ‘interestingly’ forgets about the other side, about the truth. When was the last time this medium made a correction when it turned out that it was not Guard members or Hungarians who killed gypsies, but it was some fellow gypsy mobsters working for the usury men who did that? When was the last time when this medium APOLOGIZED to the Hungarian people for misinformation? The truth about Budahazy’s case: one guy who was previously arrested on some fake charges was pushed into a plea bargain with the authorities to testify against Budahazy. This person was threatened that his family’s life will be made impossible if he does not say anything, but if he does, his family would be taken care of. The guy has a large family and they financially struggle so he quite reluctantly accepted this dirty ‘deal’. People offering a ‘deal’ like that kind of remind me the ‘good old’ days of Matthias Rakosi or Hitler’s regime. Any reasonable court will ignore his testimony against Budahazy in a civilized country. They have nothing on him and I expect this medium to apologize to the Hungarian people and correct this article with the truth once Budahazy is released. What is fair is fair. The media need to stop creating the news and start reporting the truth. Thank you.

I live in Hungary & I am sick of the communists & socialists & their bullying.I am for anyone who will get rid of them.The only benefits I see is for themselves & their children & grandchildren-creating a pseudo-”middle class”.They have money,certainly but money does not buy decency & integrity which with them appears to be non existant.
