FM rejects opposition’s criticism over recall of ambassadors

Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Balazs on Tuesday rejected the opposition suggestions that changes in ambassador posts were “acts of provocation” on the government’s part.

Main opposition Fidesz party voiced particular concern over the replacement of Ferenc Somogyi as Ambassador to the United States before the expiry of his mandate.

“There is nothing surprising about such a change,” Balazs said, adding that there is a new government in Hungary with new ideas and at such times it is good to have a new person on board.

“Bela Szombati (Somogyi’s successor to the post) is a very experienced diplomat,” Balazs said in response to Fidesz’s allegations that the move had been a provocation with elections only “a few months away”.

Hungary’s next parliamentary elections are due in April 2010, but the opposition has repeatedly called for early elections.

Big deal indeed! Only the uninitiated doesn’t see the sign of clear policy change. One choirboy taking over from the previous crook.
This Somogyi clown was a virtual laughing stock across America appearing on The Jon Steward Show, making an ass out of himself on behalf of all of Hungarians where he proudly answered questions about why respondents voted last year overwhelmingly to name the new Budapest bridge after Chuck Norris. Repeat, Chuck Norris. He thought it was funny. Unfriggin’ believable. Hopefully his successor’s first appointments will include Jay Leno or Borat. If he’s nearly as funny as Bajnai, then success is definitely ensured.

Nice try. That was Simonyi András who appeared on the Colbert Report, not the Jon STEWART show. Simonyi handled himself pretty well considering that Hungary doesn’t have much to offer the US citizens except for porn.

  3. beju says:

Nice try on your part too.
It was Somogyi Ferenc on the Jon Steward Show.
Simonyi indeed appeared on the Colbert Show as you stated, but you’re talking two different individuals. Look into it.
    Somogyi reiterated Simonyi’s claims there.

  4. beju says:

And how do you evaluate Simonyi’s performance and come to a conclusion, he handled himself well by advocating porn as Hungary’s export my dear Vladimir? Are you associated with a particular trade that bouyed your interest Vladimir? Out of the ex-soviet prostitute countries? Whores are running amok there by the thousands by successor states my friend.
Do not offend my nation is my first advice to you dear vlady, unless you’re ready for a hail of bullets coming at ya.

  5. beju says:

Oh … almost forgot to bow heads to US citizens, you dumbass.
US citizens…yes… San Bernandino Valley, the porn industry’s cradle…
Do you actually work there by the way? Depressed market it must be.
I got your message, US citizens are of the picky kind. Indeed. One out of three can’t read.

  6. beju says:

    Vlady my Slav hunchback,
Is US citizenship provides actual repentance for stupidity in your book.
Judging from your absolute insistence it must be. Once you are a US citizen, you must be a genius.
Is it how this played out convergently subsequent your citizenship oath you dumbbag?
