Most Jobbik supporters are unemployed men who live in rural parts of eastern Hungary, according to a survey by the Publicus Institute.
The poll strove to find out where Jobbik’s voters had come from. The far right party fared better than average in the 18-29 age bracket and in the 40-49 group, but had only 2% support among those over 60.
Jobbik’s voters tend to be inactive men with no education beyond vocational trade qualifications, or high school certificates, at best, Publicus found.
Four out of ten Jobbik supporters say they voted for Fidesz in 2006. However, Publicus contends that people remember having voted for Fidesz in 2006 who actually voted for the Socialists, meaning that there are probably more former Socialist voters among Jobbik than admit it.
Jobbik’s following falls away as one moves from eastern Hungary to the western part of the country. The party has more support in those regions where dependency on unemployment benefits and other social welfare is highest.
The Progresszív Institute, which commissioned the poll, says history shows that first-time voters play a major role in breakthroughs by extremist parties.
More broadly, the survey found that support for Fidesz among eligible voters has soared from 30% to 40% in the past three months. Support remains near 10% for the Socialists, 5% for Jobbik, 2% for the Democratic Forum and 1% for the Free Democrats.
The poll commissioned was conducted after the June 7 European elections.
no surprise here
No, no surprise: Publicus did what all pollsters do: construct statistics that make the point their client wants made. Yawn.
sophie,
here agin you go :”fabrication”….it becomes
pathological.
sophie,
is it possible that we get from you something
constructive.An clear view,standpoint,opinion
instead of only dismissing?
Another Media scandal character assassination , expected from the Jewish controlled media! And theaverage character statistics of supportes of MSZP and SZDSZ , Drug addicts, BumJackers, Fannylickers and Corporate Psychopaths.
Wow Simon, what a fair and balanced counter-point. Is this the
playground?
This should not be a surprise to anyone. Take a look at OECD and UN polls examining extreme (away from center) parties, and the demographics look much the same: uneducated, underemployed, government assisted, etc.
freethinker(?)
” uneducated, underemployed, government assisted, etc. ”
So what do you suggest we should do with these people? Put them on a train to Auschwitz?
And with the MSZP management of the economy ensuring more Hungarians will be unemployed. And the pro-EU legislation worship of Fidesz guarnateeing that a once great educational system will continue to deteriorate…
So the prospects for Jobbik only get better and better!
The key portion of this article is “The Progresszív Institute, which commissioned the poll” that should answer anyone’s questions about the motives behind it, and the results it is inended to show. Across Western Europe Progressivism is rightly being reguarded as an utterly defunct ideology from the classroom to the political. Why so? Because it can only maintain its absurdist social perspective by labelling an ever increasing number of conscious voters and citizens as ignorant fools.
We of course though, are supposed to nod happily and go along with it.
This is simply a lie and a conspiracy.
You need to be extremely educated and smart to believe that 3 MEPs will be able to change the whole geopolitics of East and Central Europe by dropping the Trianon borders.
Oh wait…
@lvl100
No, no, that’s the whole point. There’s no irony to be had from this story whatsoever. It’s a classic “Dog Bites Man” headline.
It’s basically saying: portion of the Magyar electorate most stiffed by the last 20 years – vote for only party that recognizes they’ve been hard done by and pledges not to stiff them anymore.
Wow. What a shocker.
Why are the likes of Sophie, Simon, etc. uncomfortable with the fact that most people who share their views are undereducated and unemployed?
@bobscountrybunker totally agree with you, but its also true that blatant truisms inherently attract “no shit, Sherlock” type of remarks
And what survey would that might be?
Tel Aviv 2 or ATV?
Serious surveys with serious personalities such as the likes of Political Capital experts right?
Opinion formulators right?
Survey says Jobbik has lower class sympathizers.
What a buch of bull guys!
And next time Ed McMahon will come to your door with your winnings and flowers! Out of his grave.
Beautiful piece of informative news!
“Most Jobbik supporters are unemployed men who live in rural parts of eastern Hungary”
Does this mean that gypsies are Jobbik’s biggest supporters???
Never mind the stupid “survey”.
Hungarians are fed up with 20 years of corruption, and it’s only natural to vote for the most radical opposition they can find.
DOn’t underestimate the importance of people who never had a chance for “higher education”. I’ve met so many retarded college grads, it’s not even funny. The first thing they lose is common sense, and replace it with useless liberal crap from “professors” like Eva S Balogh.
“Jobbik supporters uneducated, unemployed”
Hmmm sounds like the good ole commisars of the Soviet Union and Eastern block, Remember Kruschev banging his shoe on the desk at the UN like a Russian peasant? LOL, from what my uncle told me, the Communists in Hungary had no more than high school education and were only put in positions of authority becuase of their loyalty to the communist party, otherwise they would be unemployed minners and factory workers…..
dear Godot and the lots:
tudod mit?
A jó MAGYAR LÓFASZ a jó MAGYAR SEGGEDBE!
Every society has a segment of its population that is unsatisfied,
economically depressed and is ready to embrace a movement built
on xenophobia racism and other “fear of the Other”. What is
surprising in Hungary is that Jobbik has such a following among
University students. There is no doubt Jobbik “anti-establishment”
image and “underdog” station appeals to young people who are often the first to embrace radical “new” ideologies. But universities
supposed to open your minds, and your eyes to see that there is
way more out in the World of philosophy, that this kind of ultra-
nationalism is noting more than tribalism…
The politicization polarization of society to this current extent is a
complete opposite of a “Civil Society” of everything that the word
“NATION” means.
I fear for my Country.
I am grateful for my country, at last the people are awakening. Hungary for Hungarians
@Simon: Fair enough. Just don’t get upset when people say things like “Romania for the Romanians” and “Slovakia for the Slovaks.”
what do we know about surveys?
They select a small group of people, a few 100 to a 1000 and the have there outcome.
Where you ever ask for one? Most of us never.
Did they go to every part of Hungary? Guess not!
So this is something to think about, before making all those comments…..
. . . . . . The party has more support in those regions where dependency on unemployment benefits and other social welfare is highest. . . . . . .
One might correct the above quoted sentence from the story as:” The party has more support in those regions where roma crime is out of control.”
Because officially roma crime, “megélhetési bűnozés” does not exist. And if someone dares to say the truth – like the police chief in Miskolc -he may be even fired from his post.
It sounds like there is little love for undereducated, unemployed Hungarian males, even on the far right. Will nobody take these poor souls on as constituents?
@Géza: Thankfully statistical analysis has moved on a bit and surveys do aim to take a representative sample that mirrors the general make-up of the population (age, sex, earning etc..). They clearly account for margin of errors, sampling bias, self-selection bias etc…
More details can be found on the Publicus website: http://www.publicus.hu/blog/haromparti_parlament_sokszinu_jobbik
3,500 people were sampled in the survey, of which 67% agreed to take part (2,345). They have a full breakdown by age group, earnings etc…
simon,
first: despite your “grande’ annoucement you
were missed yesterday at cafe farger..???
Hungary to the Hungarians statement:
Are you able to shed a bit more light into this
phrase?
Who are the Hungarians?Who is not?
What are the criteria to be hungarian?
What do you (jobbik?) consider to be Hungary? And what not? Who decides on this and what are the basis for those decisions?etc.etc.
There 101 qestions????
A part of it is being discussed under annother
thread but i would like to hear from you?
same exact questions for you Judas you asked, but this time switch Hungarians to Jews, and Hungary to Israel.
I’m awaiting your answer.
Actually Judas I didn’t even realize that café was on the corner. I was actually looking for a place to get a cuppa and walked straight past it twice without spotting it, so this was your hang out dam!! I’m pist off that I didn’t see it, however I bet the place would have been resonating when the crowd yelled SZEBB JOVOT!! I hope you joined in?
I tell you what it feels to be Hungarian , well it is a experience where it resonates from the heart and there is such a bond with your Hungarian kin that words are not enough, and this is something I don’t sense you have ever experienced.
Interestingly the only bond that the Jews have is the fact that everyone detests your race, for thousands of years your so called chosen people have been displaced nomads wandering the earth like a slithering serpent. I haven’t any sympathy for the worst group of sinners that walk the earth who are blinded by the mammon. None of your history is authentic it’s all been written to try and empower you and your race of serpents.
That truly is quite insightful Simon. You are quite a remarkable human being. Though your numbers, or at least the number of usernames here, makes your ranks look big, thankfully reality is not in like this. That would be a very sad day for the human race.
C’est Moi, as an outsider what do you think of the human race?
@Anonymous: Stan, you’ve used that joke before (‘as and outsider…’). Get some new material.
Stan – You really are a treasure. As in someone should bury you and make sure you are very hard to find, like a cat turd.
Simon, you’re so right about what you say about the Jew’s history not being authentic and only written to try and empower the Jews, but, seriously, the only thing is, how did you figure it out? I only recently learnt that when i went to the Elders of Zion Hungary/Carpathia lodge 7x for the domination of Hungary, that there is in fact an 11th commandment, namely, “thou shalt take over a random Central European Country”, and also, if you take the first letter of all the commandments, it spells out “make sure to always appear to take over random countries”, seriously Simon, amazing job figuring us out. And I as mentioned before, hey, all this hate towards us Jews only builds character, right? Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”….I know wait with baited breath for the flood of death threats
The only threat for you is your own ignorance, which will be your demise.
Actually Magician, I’ve found just the opposite, there is no threat from my ignorance, since as they say, ignorance is bliss, therefore I live a great, carefree existence living in my own ignorant world. But, and I say this with all sincerity, thank you so much for caring and sharing, and you should know that you’ve made the world a better place. Thanks! lmao
Ignorance is Bliss for the power elite,
If any party wants to be taken seriously at the next election they will first have to provide
a cohesive and well-thought-out manifesto upon which voters can make a decision. They will then be able to judge the performance of the governement they elected.
MSZP want wiping off the face of the earth for their woeful and corrupt performance which has seen Hungary all but nosedive into oblivion.
Orban? Not for my money. More of the same I think?
Fidesz needs to modernise – and do it quickly. For all our sakes. Will it happen? In a word – NO!!
Ricsi,
Here I am in beautiful Sopiane only to find out that you went into hiding in your native UK.
Oh, well, I’ll just have to do the job without you.
It’s not as much fun; but still the results are the same.
We have a few good photos of Hotpaprika on Erzsebet ter. Will post them on Parkereso.
Have you read the new Extradition treaty between Hungary and the USA? You should…
Csunyabb Jovot!
